"Shot peening" is a cold working method in which hard small balls, called shot materials, with a particle size of approximately 40μm to 1.3mm are accelerated and sprayed onto the workpiece at high speed using a projection device, causing them to collide with the surface. "FPP (fine particle peening)" is a type of shot peening that uses very small shot materials with a particle size of less than 0.2mm, and is projected onto the workpiece at significantly higher speeds than conventional shot peening, distinguishing it from the standard shot peening that uses larger shot materials. In addition, "barrel polishing" utilizes the relative friction between the workpiece, media (abrasive stones, abrasives), and compounds (polishing aids) to address various finishing purposes such as deburring, scale removal, rounding edges, smooth finishing, and gloss finishing for machined parts, pressed parts, sintered parts, and heat-treated parts.
