Processing with minimal reduction in plate thickness.

Even with aluminum materials that are prone to scratches, processing can be done without any surface marks.

At Kato Manufacturing Co., Ltd., we can perform drawing processes that minimize changes in sheet thickness, utilizing the "opposing hydraulic forming method" and the know-how cultivated over 30 years. Even in the drawing process of aluminum material (difficult-to-machine material) with a thickness of 1.25mm, the thickest point only increases by 1.6%, while the thinnest point decreases by 6.4%, significantly reducing variations in sheet thickness and allowing for nearly uniform drawing. 【Features】 ○ Processing can be done without surface scratches even on aluminum materials that are prone to scratching. ○ Products that could only be made through conventional machining (aircraft parts) can now be realized through special drawing processes. ○ Significant cost reductions can be achieved. For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Press processing of magnetic materials

Utilized to realize various functions by leveraging the properties of ferromagnetic materials.

At Kato Manufacturing Co., Ltd., we process products using soft magnetic materials (Permalloy) through press processing, ensuring a combination of high-precision punching and high-precision bending. We achieve a general punching tolerance of plus or minus 0.05 mm and a bending angle tolerance of zero plus 0.1 mm, establishing a mass production system. Particularly, since Permalloy is a very expensive material, the occurrence of defective products is not permitted. Therefore, high reliability in molds and long-lasting processing are required. **Characteristics of Permalloy** - Low coercivity and high permeability - Used in magnetic cores for coils and transformers, magnetic yokes, magnetic shields, etc. - Has the ability to easily respond to slight changes in magnetic fields For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Copper material pressing process

It is commonly used as materials for wiring components, circuits, and cables in electrical appliances.

At Kato Manufacturing Co., Ltd., we use tough pitch copper with reflow tin plating to press parts called lead frames, which support and fix semiconductor elements (semiconductor chips) used in semiconductor packages such as ICs and LSIs, and connect them to external wiring. When pressing the plated copper sheets, due to the material characteristics of having a hard surface and a soft interior, the mold punch is prone to seizing, requiring careful selection of mold materials and lubrication. Additionally, because there are terminal components that resemble centipede legs, as well as numerous burr processing and pilot hole processing of similar thickness to the sheet, special measures are necessary to prevent scrap and punch breakage, and high-level technology is required to meet the quality demands of all holes and terminal parts. 【Characteristics of Tough Pitch Copper】 ○ Copper alloy number: C1100 ○ Composition: Cu 99.90 or higher ○ Tensile strength: 245–315 N/mm² ○ Elongation: 15.0% ○ Hardness: 75.0–120.0 HV For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Daiwa Precision Press Co., Ltd. - Examples of Press Processing of Difficult-to-Cut Materials

We will introduce examples of press processing using difficult-to-cut materials. We can accommodate a wide range of applications, including small quantities and various types.

This is made using materials referred to as difficult-to-machine materials (materials with poor machinability), subjected to drawing and special processing. Regarding the drawing, care has been taken to suppress variations in the thickness of the drawn part and to prevent cracking, while the ring is finished on an integrated metal ring. The materials shown in the photo are processing samples of tantalum (rare metal), 42 alloy, and Inconel X750. For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Irregular shape drawing, hole punching on the drawing side, progressive die processing.

VA/VE proposal to prevent the occurrence of cracks and tears!

Due to the irregular shape with a concave feature in part of the cylindrical die, cracks and tears are likely to occur at the die angle. We have stabilized quality and eliminated tear defects. Case studies on cost benefits are also introduced in the "Precision Press Processing Technology Handbook." We are offering the handbook for free, so please inquire.

Universal Press Machine Jig Enarock Series

A general-purpose press machine jig for joining two metal plates by riveting with a press machine.

The Enarock series is a general-purpose press machine fixture designed for joining two metal plates using a press machine. It enables fastener-less joining of metals without the use of welding, fastening materials, or adhesives, allowing for simultaneous joining during the pressing process by being integrated into the mold. It can achieve appropriate fastening regardless of whether the materials are the same or different, such as iron, stainless steel, or aluminum. Additionally, since it does not require heating, it can also be used with painted steel sheets. Furthermore, by utilizing plastic processing, it allows for high-speed processing, thereby increasing productivity. Enarock helps achieve further reductions in running costs. We pursue the minimization of production costs with a long-lasting design, offering the low-cost, reusable dive blade "Cutlock" that can be used four times, and the "Drawlock," which is ideal for products requiring airtightness, responding to low cost and short delivery times. For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.
