[Structural Analysis Example] Buckling Analysis of an Empty Can

The initial buckling location is in the body due to the increase in strength at the bottom! Here is an analysis case using "Ansys LS-DYNA."

We will introduce an analysis example that evaluates the buckling load and buckling shape of an empty can compressed in the vertical direction. In buckling analysis, even slight errors in the initial shape can lead to buckling behavior. Even if the analysis data has the same plate thickness, basic shape, and material properties, considering initial imperfections causes the initial buckling location to change from the bottom to the body. Additionally, when considering work hardening at the bottom of the empty can, the strength of the bottom increases, resulting in the initial buckling location being at the body. In the related links below, we present the analysis results in a video, so please take a look. [Summary] - Even if the analysis data has the same plate thickness, basic shape, and material properties, considering initial imperfections causes the initial buckling location to change from the bottom to the body. - When considering work hardening at the bottom of the empty can, the strength of the bottom increases, resulting in the initial buckling location being at the body. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

[Analysis Case] Stirring Analysis Considering Hardening Reaction

The molding of resin products requires an important stirring process to uniformly mix the materials! Here we introduce examples of stirring analysis.

In the molding process of resin products, the stirring process to uniformly mix multiple materials is important for both molding defects and quality. In the case of thermosetting resin materials (base agent and hardener), calculations considering the spread of each material and the curing reaction during stirring are necessary. Therefore, we customized the interFoam solver and developed a solver that takes into account the concentration changes of the base agent and hardener during stirring, as well as the curing reaction. 【Case Overview】 ■ Confirm the distribution and progress of the reaction rate in the stirring tank ■ Identify areas where the base agent tends to remain without reacting ■ Can be used to examine ideal stirring conditions such as wing shape, rotation speed, and the presence or absence of baffles *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

High Frequency Noise Analysis "RF Noise Analysis"

Analysis of the effects of external high-frequency noise.

By adding a layer on top and creating something equivalent to an antenna, it is possible to simulate external high-frequency noise. Whether the noise resistance has improved after the substrate modification can be estimated without creating the substrate. 【Features】 ○ Total terminal voltage when 900MHz is radiated from the upper antenna ○ It is evident that the induced voltage has decreased in the modified substrate ○ An assessment of quality can be made once the artwork is completed For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

Server room (data center) air conditioning analysis

Analyzing the effects of aisle capping in the server room!

In server rooms and data centers, there are many servers and IT equipment, and heat management is essential for their stable operation. As a countermeasure, the exhaust fans on the back of the server racks are positioned to face each other, creating a pathway (hereinafter referred to as the hot aisle) that primarily directs exhaust from the racks upward. Conversely, the intake sides at the front of the server racks are also positioned to face each other, creating a pathway (hereinafter referred to as the cold aisle) that primarily introduces cool air from the floor into the server racks. This arrangement allows for efficient exhaust. However, at the top of the server racks, there is a risk of drawing in high-temperature exhaust from the equipment (short-circuiting), so we considered countermeasures and conducted a comparison based on the presence or absence of a partition (hereinafter referred to as aisle capping) at the top of the cold aisle. For more details, please download the catalog.

Entrance hall air conditioning analysis

During the basic design phase, an air conditioning analysis of the entrance hall was conducted.

The entrance hall targeted for analysis is a large space with a height of approximately 20 meters. During the basic design phase, it is crucial to verify whether there are any issues with the temperature distribution and airflow in the living area based on the position, number, wind speed, and temperature of the air conditioning air outlets. This is very important for considering comfort and energy efficiency. Additionally, it is necessary to take into account the variations in conditions due to the seasons. In this analysis, we detailed the internal space of the building, the arrangement of the air outlets and inlets, and the thermal load, conducting air conditioning analysis for summer, winter, and transitional periods. For more details, please download the catalog.

Analysis of airflow around the cooling tower

Reproducing the thermal flow conditions around a cooling tower with unknown characteristics and behavior!

Thermal fluid equipment related to building facilities often has many unknown characteristics and behaviors. Cooling towers are one such example, but by precisely setting the structure, flow conditions, and thermal conditions of each cell in the cooling tower, it is possible to reproduce the thermal fluid state quite accurately. In this analysis, we conducted a cooling tower thermal fluid analysis considering external winds to examine the impact of the airflow state around high-rise buildings and the arrangement of multiple cooling towers with different specifications on the temperature distribution of the heat released from each cell to the outside air. For more details, please download the catalog.

Rotary door ventilation analysis

We analyzed the ventilation characteristics of revolving doors, which are movable boundaries.

What are the ventilation characteristics of revolving doors? In revolving doors, where the opening area changes significantly over time, it is important to capture the temporal variation of the ventilation airflow. This analysis treats the revolving section as a moving object, aiming to gain insights into the circulation of air inside and outside. For more details, please download the catalog.

Analysis of airflow in the subway station when the train enters.

I analyzed the airflow in the subway station using the moving boundary problem.

It is known that there are significant speed and pressure fluctuations at the front and rear of vehicles running in narrow spaces such as tunnels and subway stations. In this analysis, we conducted simulations regarding the impact on the area around the platform (airflow, pressure) when a train passes, using the moving boundary problem. For more details, please download the catalog.
