[Case Study] Milling Machining of Titanium Alloys
This is a case study examining factors that influence chip shape, cutting resistance values, and tool temperature!
This is a case study on cutting simulation analysis of titanium alloy milling using "AdvantEdge FEM." In addition to tool temperature and cutting resistance values, the chip shape changes complexly according to the amount of material removed, leading to a high demand for analysis such as chip shape control. Therefore, we conducted the analysis using our product. It was found that with double the cutting speed, the spindle power also doubled, and the cutting temperature increased by 200°C. 【Cutting of Ti alloy (Ti-6Al-4V)】 ■ Excellent high-temperature strength → A large amount of work is required for cutting ■ High work hardening rate → A large amount of energy is required to generate chips ■ Low thermal conductivity → Heat tends to accumulate in the tool ■ Reactivity → High chemical affinity at elevated temperatures *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
