[Anaerobic wastewater treatment system case study] Nakata Foods in the food industry

We will introduce a case where bioimpact was implemented to achieve high-efficiency energy recovery.

Nakata Foods is a food manufacturer in Wakayama Prefecture that specializes in the production and sale of pickled plums, plum wine, and plum processed products. The plum seasoning wastewater generated during the pickling process is an extremely high-concentration wastewater exceeding BOD: 100,000 mg/l, making it difficult to treat with conventional wastewater treatment facilities. To utilize the plum seasoning wastewater as a biomass resource, we introduced our anaerobic wastewater treatment facility, "Bio Impact." Previously treated as industrial waste, the plum seasoning wastewater can now be processed at a lower cost due to the high-efficiency anaerobic wastewater treatment facility. This has significantly reduced the burden on small and medium-sized businesses by allowing for acceptance at a more affordable cost than before. 【Facility Overview】 ■ Facility: Nakata Foods Biogas Power Plant ■ Start of Operation: April 2019 ■ Treatment Capacity: 20 tons/day (dedicated to plum seasoning wastewater generated from our own and local plum processing businesses) ■ Biogas Utilization Equipment: Diesel engine generators (60kW x 6 units) ■ Annual Power Generation: Approximately 2 million kWh ■ Treated Water: Utilizes public sewer system *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Kimchi Manufacturing Factory - Oil and Fat Decomposition Wastewater Treatment Facility

Efficiently decomposing fats and oils through the fat decomposition mechanism! Large processing equipment is no longer necessary.

We would like to introduce a case where we provided design, construction, and consulting for a grease decomposition wastewater treatment facility at a kimchi manufacturing plant. In this facility, we adopted a grease decomposition system as a pretreatment for biological treatment, which is unsuitable for high concentrations of grease. This system breaks down the grease into a form that is easier for biological treatment. For the biological treatment, we employed a contact aeration method that generates less excess sludge and is easier to maintain. In conventional treatment technologies, grease is difficult to decompose and can negatively impact microorganisms, making pretreatment of grease through grease traps and coagulation pressure flotation devices essential. By adopting the "grease decomposition system" as a solution to many issues, grease is decomposed, eliminating the need for large-scale treatment equipment. 【Case Overview】 ■ Facility: Kimchi Manufacturing Plant, Grease Decomposition Wastewater Treatment Facility ■ Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD): Influent 2000 → Effluent 230 ■ Normal Hexane Extractable Substances: Influent 150 → Effluent 15 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
