Free membership registrationSince the bottle itself is being processed, the diameter on the outlet side cannot be measured. However, based on prior condition checks, a reverse taper hole has been created where the outlet side is wider than the inlet side, and efforts have been made to ensure that the visible hole diameter from the outside is the minimum diameter. Additionally, processing has been carried out on the outer peripheral area, referencing the actual leak testing machine, to be confirmed during visual inspection.

Free membership registrationBy creating nanoscale fine shapes on the punch surface, it is expected to reduce tool wear and extend tool life. Additionally, effects such as decorative structural colors and anchor patterning are anticipated with LIPSS itself! Not only on flat surfaces but also on cylindrical outer surfaces and workpieces with approximately ±3mm of undulation, nanoscale periodic structures can be processed, so please consider this for situations where fine structures on surfaces are needed.

Free membership registrationNitrile gloves are used in various situations, but did you know that even when new, they have a pinhole occurrence rate of about 1.2 to 3.75%? Additionally, thin nitrile rubber can easily develop small holes due to minor factors like pulling or friction during use. These holes are called pinholes and pose a risk of direct contact with viruses and bacteria. It is said that pinholes in used gloves are more common on the thumb and index finger of the opposite hand from the dominant hand. Therefore, this processing was performed on the fingertips of the nitrile gloves. Please take a look at the Φ50μm holes that penetrate even the extremely thin nitrile rubber with a thickness of 80μm!

Free membership registrationWhat is black marking? Black marking is a laser processing technique that minimizes thermal damage while marking the surface of materials with black text or symbols. By reducing surface damage, it allows for processing without altering the properties of materials such as stainless steel and copper, enabling the creation of engraved items with corrosion resistance. This technology is also resistant to cleaning with chemicals, making it effective for products that require sterilization, such as medical supplies.

Free membership registrationThe flow of antibacterial processing has also been applied to metal products, where antibacterial functions are required to prevent microbiological corrosion caused by microorganisms and to ensure hygiene in places like food factories. As a new method in addition to the application of antibacterial coatings such as silver ions and copper ions, as well as the use of disinfectants, Lips Works proposes antibacterial processing using ultra-short pulse lasers. The emergence of antibacterial properties through ultra-short pulse laser processing does not require coatings on surfaces like traditional methods and does not involve the use of chemicals, eliminating concerns about resistant bacteria. We also provide data that has cleared JIS standards for antibacterial processing through laser processing on our website. How about considering a new method for imparting antibacterial properties to metal materials and manufacturing machines?

Free membership registrationCFRP has been utilized mainly in automobiles and aircraft, where improving fuel efficiency and maintaining strength are essential, due to its strength and lightness. On the other hand, it has traditionally been considered a material that is difficult to process, with challenges such as burrs caused by thermal effects during cutting and delamination due to its laminated structure. At Lips Works, we propose micro-fine processing of CFRP using ultra-short pulse lasers. The processing example we are introducing this time is straight hole machining. As you can see, we are able to achieve processing with almost no burrs or delamination. At Lips Works, we also offer various processing options besides drilling, such as cutting and micro-texturing. Please take a look at our company website.

Free membership registrationThis is a proposal for design processing that utilizes anisotropic structural colors. The structural colors decorated with the "Anisotropic Structural Color Function Creation Technology" using nanoperiodic structures (LIPSS) created by femtosecond lasers do not suffer from fading or degradation over time. Not only can it be directly processed onto metals, but it is also possible to transfer it onto resins such as silicone rubber and ABS. By applying the "Anisotropic Structural Color Function Creation Technology" to molds, a large number of beautiful plastic products can be produced. How about utilizing this for product decoration?

Free membership registrationAt Lips Works, we have successfully controlled the directionality of LIPSS (nano-periodic structures) using femtosecond laser processing. By selectively changing the directionality of the nano-periodic structures, it is possible to create patterns with different emission colors side by side. With the completion of this technology, we can freely apply nano-periodic structures with different orientations. As shown in the photo, various emissions can be observed. Nano-periodic structures reflect the wavelength components contained in light as they are, depending on the angle of incidence from a certain direction. This is a proposal for processing that utilizes the reflection of fine structures to achieve decorative properties.

Free membership registrationAluminum alloys are generally not classified as difficult-to-cut materials when used for wet machining, as they are softer and have less tool wear compared to steel materials. However, aluminum has a low melting point and is a highly reactive metal scientifically, which causes adhesion and welding on the tool surface when cutting temperatures rise, significantly reducing tool life. Therefore, aluminum alloys are very difficult materials for dry machining. Semi-dry and dry machining in cutting processes can lead to reduced environmental impact, cost savings, and simplification of work, but there are still many challenges, such as significant tool wear and a marked decline in cutting quality, depending on the cutting conditions. At Lips Works, we have successfully developed cutting tools that generate various functions by applying a specific three-dimensional periodic microstructure to the tool surface, which is a completely opposite concept to the conventional wisdom of cutting tools that states, "the tool surface should be finished as smoothly as possible."

Since ultra-short pulse lasers are used, there are no thermal effects such as burrs. Adjustments to processing range, emboss diameter, depth, pitch, and other parameters are also possible. In addition to complex embossing examples, arbitrary shapes can be applied.

Free membership registrationThe Laura transfer method is an essential manufacturing process for sculpture, gravure, embossing, and optical film production. The outer circumference and surface of the core roller are provided with fine patterns. However, the cutting tools used to apply these fine patterns are limited to relatively soft metals, making it traditionally impossible to apply fine processing to high-hardness surfaces. Many users have struggled with the low lifespan due to the low wear resistance of the roll surface. Additionally, methods such as wrapping patterns transferred by Ni electroforming around the roller surface are commonly used, but the seams are also transferred to the product, leading to productivity issues. Rollers are expensive, and they are prone to scratches and significant wear. As a result, not only is the cost of the rollers a concern, but the frequent replacement times have greatly impacted production. At Lips Works, we propose a super short pulse laser lathe processing machine that can perform processing without thermal effects, regardless of the material of the roll surface. Processing size: Φ200mm × L500mm Manufacturing of processing equipment is also possible for sizes larger than the above.
