We would like to introduce a processing case where 22 seals were produced from 3mm thick neoprene sponge (Neo-spot) in the size of 148mm × 478mm. Neoprene sponge is a well-balanced rubber sponge material with excellent weather resistance, heat resistance, flame retardancy, and oil resistance. Its closed-cell structure makes it difficult for air and water to pass through, maintaining high airtightness and water resistance. The processing details include four bolt holes with a diameter of 10mm and R30 curved processing on the inner diameter corners. ■Overview of Processing Example Product Name: Neoprene Sponge Frame Gasket (with Single-Sided Tape) Dimensions: 190W × 320L (20mm Wide Frame) This processing example involves the fabrication of a frame-shaped gasket made from neoprene sponge material. It features a rectangular outer shape with an inner opening in a frame structure, and multiple mounting holes are arranged around the perimeter. One side is adhered with adhesive tape, enhancing the ease of assembly. The client’s industry is related to industrial equipment and devices. The characteristics of this product include water resistance and cushioning properties due to the neoprene sponge material, as well as the combination of frame shape and single-sided tape structure, which balances temporary fixation and work efficiency. Water jet processing was adopted for the manufacturing method. Since sponge materials are prone to crushing and dimensional variation with blade processing, non-contact processing is used to accurately reproduce the outer shape, inner shape, and hole positions according to the drawings, ensuring stable shape accuracy even after tape application.

We would like to introduce a case where we manufactured a ring-shaped product with dimensions φ119×φ80 from a very thick sponge material (B-4) with a thickness of 76mm. Such thick materials cannot be processed with press processing as the blades cannot reach, and plotter processing cannot accommodate the thickness of the material.
