GARAMITE-7305 is a rheology additive that exhibits superior properties compared to conventional organic affinity phyllosilicates (organic clays). Conventional phyllosilicates require high shear forces and polar activators (surfactants) to promote dispersion during formulation. In contrast, GARAMITE-7305 can be easily dispersed and activated with moderate shear forces in solvents and binders. By using GARAMITE-7305, it becomes possible to achieve high viscosity formulations in low shear areas, resulting in excellent sedimentation prevention effects and anti-syneresis properties. When shear forces are applied, viscosity significantly decreases, greatly improving application characteristics.

"LAPONITE-EP" is specially designed to enhance the rheological control of aqueous materials under "harsh conditions." This product is a layered silicate synthesized from a mineral source that naturally exists and has unique organic modifications. "CLAYTONE-MPZ" is an excellent rheological additive based on organically modified phyllosilicates. "LAPONITE" is a rheology additive based on BYK's synthetic phyllosilicate for water-based systems. It primarily increases viscosity in low shear regions and induces pseudoplastic flow. In addition to providing excellent sedimentation prevention and storage stability, it improves processability and applicability across a wide range of water-based systems. "BYK-AQUAGEL" is an easily dispersible inorganic layered additive that has been highly purified from natural hydrophilic layered silicates and dried while maintaining a delaminated state using a shock drying method. When added as a packaged product or intermediate, the viscosity effect remains almost unchanged, and the resistance to dripping is similarly maintained. When LAPONITE-RD, a synthetic layered silicate, is used in combination with polymer thickening agents, electrostatic interactions occur between oppositely charged regions of the molecules of polymer co-thickening agents such as carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). Features RHEOBYK-7601 increases viscosity in low shear regions and creates a high pseudoplastic flow behavior. As a result, sag resistance and storage stability are significantly improved, and good leveling is also achieved. When added to color pastes, this additive enhances the compatibility of the system's color paste while maintaining viscosity. Due to its composition, the addition of RHEOBYK-7601 is very simple, requiring no temperature control or pH adjustment. The balanced compatibility of this additive allows for use in various paint systems, particularly yielding good results in low VOC and VOC-free formulations. When combined with rheological additives effective in high shear regions, optimal workability is achieved.

OPTIBENT-602 improves the anti-sagging properties of thick plaster systems by achieving a high flow limit and reduces the slip behavior of (cement-based) tile adhesives. At the same time, in many systems, OPTIBENT-602 allows for a reduction in the use of other organic thickening agent formulations, thereby contributing to a stable or optimized anti-sagging effect. It can also enhance open time without affecting the process.

"RHEOBYK-7601" is a polyurethane associative thickener suitable for colorant tinting. It increases viscosity in low shear regions and creates a high pseudoplastic flow behavior. As a result, drip resistance and storage stability are significantly improved, and good leveling is also achieved. When added to color paste, this additive enhances the compatibility of the system's color paste while maintaining viscosity. Due to its composition, the addition of RHEOBYK-7601 is very simple, requiring no temperature control or pH adjustment. The balanced compatibility of this additive allows for use in various paint systems, particularly yielding good results in low VOC and VOC-free formulations. When combined with rheological additives effective in high shear regions, optimal workability is achieved.

LAPONITE-7007 is a thickening agent that can maintain high viscosity in systems containing high concentrations of electrolytes or surfactants, or in high pH solutions. Additionally, it is gel-like yet can be easily sprayed, which is a significant feature.

★The Importance of Rheology in High Solid Content Polyurethane Formulations High solid content polyurethane (HS PU) is gaining popularity as an alternative to solvent-based systems (DMF coagulation process) and PVC plastisol. HS PU often exhibits relatively high viscosity at room temperature, but it has been observed that when cured in a high-temperature oven at 150-170°C, the viscosity significantly decreases. This phenomenon can potentially affect leveling properties and foaming ratios when using chemical blowing agents. By using 【GARAMITE】, it is possible to suppress the viscosity decrease in the oven.
