"BYK-3566" is a newly added acrylic surface modifier based on macromer technology in the BYK product line. It increases the surface energy of dried coatings. The relatively long silicone macromer chains are a key feature, providing a very strong orientation at the paint/air interface, resulting in excellent effects. AQUACER 537 N exhibits hydrophobic effects in water-based paints, improves anti-blocking properties, and increases surface slip.

Features BYK-397 is a low-polarity additive that provides a perfectly balanced general-purpose type, imparting excellent orientation to the paint surface. This has two effects: one is superior leveling properties, and the second is that it also has defoaming capabilities. This effect is achieved even with a small amount of addition. The surface tension of the paint is only slightly reduced, while recoatability and internal adhesion are maintained. Furthermore, BYK-397 can be used in both colored and clear coatings without causing cloudiness or haziness. It can also be used in high-gloss paints. BYK-397 is suitable for both thin and thick film types. It has excellent thermal stability and does not cause yellowing at high bake temperatures.

"BYK-3558" is a surface additive for high solid and medium solid paints based on silicone and polyether modified acrylate copolymers. Using BYK-3558 moderately reduces the surface tension of wet paint films, improving the wettability of the substrate and effectively preventing beading. It also imparts excellent leveling properties. While surface slip properties increase, the tendency for bubble stabilization within the paint film remains unchanged.

Improves the adhesion of powder coatings to metal substrates that have undergone various pretreatments. It is also effective for use with powder coatings for non-metal substrates. This improvement in adhesion shows better results in natural salt spray tests (NSS) and other standard testing methods used for powder coating adhesion tests.
