With March 11 approaching and awareness of disaster prevention rising, I would like to share information about the participatory disaster prevention event "Our Disaster Prevention," held on February 26 in Iitate Village, Fukushima Prefecture. The heavy rain in western Japan that occurred from June 28 to July 8, 2018 (Heisei 30). The impact was significant even in Tokushima Prefecture, where there were damages such as the isolation of communities due to landslides and many households experiencing power outages. This area, rich in nature and known for the Nachi Falls, has suffered significant tsunami damage from past Nankai Trough earthquakes.
