Case: Removal of studs from a stacker reclaimer with hydraulic tensioner.

A case of developing a hydraulic tensioner to safely and timely remove studs!

Removing a 3-meter-long stud from the bucket wheel drive output of a Sandvik stacker reclaimer is a difficult and time-consuming task. In previous operations, it took over 10 hours to remove each stud, and a maximum force of 120 tons was required to push or pull a total of 16 studs. To safely and promptly remove the studs, a custom GT4 hydraulic tensioner was developed. The tensioner extracts each stud in about 30 minutes, significantly saving time for the maintenance team. Case: Jacking and lateral sliding of tunnel boring machines.

For the next drilling stage! A case study using a synchronized lifting system and hydraulic jacks.

In 2013, Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, began construction of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system with the expectation of alleviating the city's traffic congestion. One of the critical stages of tunnel construction is the pass-through. In this pass-through, it is necessary to move the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) through the underground station to the next excavation site, which requires a high-precision system to handle the heavy loads with uneven weight distribution. Therefore, Ekatama Group used a synchronized lifting system and hydraulic jacks to lift and slide the TBM with an accuracy of 1mm throughout all positioning operations. The stroke sensors at each lifting point generated real-time updates, measuring the displacement of the load to maintain an accuracy of 1mm. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Before Rangemaster installed the new 1,200-ton ring frame hydraulic press, it was necessary to remove the existing hydraulic double-action press. Additionally, the existing printing machine on the second floor had to be dismantled, lifted, and lowered to be moved to the first floor through some limited spaces. To accomplish this, the SL400 hydraulic gantry was used to lift the crown and base of the existing press onto load skates. Two gantry units that were on the first floor were moved to the second floor, where they lifted the press and transported it to the new foundation. The press was then lifted from a horizontal position to a vertical position and lowered onto the fixing bolts. Case study: Lifting a historic building for renovation.

We will introduce examples of historic buildings whose foundations have been safely lifted and restored!

The renovation of a historic building in the capital of Georgia required lifting a 3.4-meter-high steel tower. To achieve this, a 16-point SyncLift system and 39 hydraulic jacks were used to synchronously lift the building onto the pylons. Pylons measuring 5.5 meters in length were driven into the concrete foundation from the first floor, with brackets and double-acting hydraulic jacks mounted on top of each pylon. Four threaded steel rods were passed through each pylon bracket and connected to the structure supporting the building's foundation. Additionally, the SyncLift system allowed the operator to monitor and control all jacks from a single touchscreen controller. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Case: Pull pin for oil well casing elevator spider.

We will introduce a case where we provided a hydraulic solution to pull out a pin within 15 minutes!

All boreholes of oil wells being drilled must be covered with durable materials to prevent contamination and provide structural support during drilling. The elevator spider is used as a guide to center each casing, and the pins need to be replaced with each drilling to remove corrosion and dirt that accumulates during the process. Additionally, the existing process for removing the pins at MOISS took up to four hours and required continuous hammering. The spindle bar passes through the center of the "RCH series" hollow cylinder attached to a metal sleeve and connects to the pins of the elevator spider. The "RCH series hollow plunger hydraulic cylinder" equipped with the "P series Ultima hydraulic hand pump" provides a hydraulic solution to pull out the pins in under 15 minutes, saving the maintenance team several hours. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Case Study: Construction of Offshore Highways - Challenges in Lifting

The continuous movement of the gantry hoist is achieved by a long-stroke cylinder!

The construction of offshore highways presents many challenges. In particular, it is necessary to lift concrete foundation blocks and accurately position them on the seabed, place supports, and ultimately assist in connecting to the bridge deck. The type of crane technology suitable for this specific project includes strand jacks or winches for lifting, and skids or trolleys for moving the blocks. We have chosen a trolley system that offers several clear advantages. It allows for continuous movement of the blocks and variable speed, enabling high-speed positioning when lowering the crane. Furthermore, it has very limited maintenance costs compared to skidding systems. Case: The jack system slides the Holbrook Canal into the designated position.

Horizontal bridge slide method! I was able to complete the slide in 52 minutes!

Minimizing the time that State Route 266 is closed was a primary objective during the reconstruction of the bridge over the Holbrook Canal. The new bridge was initially used as a detour while the defective bridge was being demolished, and once the old bridge was taken down, the new bridge needed to be slid into position at the original bridge's location. To slide the new bridge into the designated position, a lateral bridge sliding method was employed. We provided a hydraulic solution that could push the new 44.5-foot bridge structure into the designated position using the lateral sliding method with PTFE slide elements. We supplied two "RR series double-acting hydraulic cylinders," each equipped with a unique "ZU series hydraulic pump" and integrated pendant control. The pendant control allowed the operator to maintain individual control and manage any shifts in the bridge structure between the abutments or recover from wedging. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Case: Precisely lifting and positioning with a hydraulic gantry and side shift.

By using the side shift, we can now operate the press in three dimensions!

LASO Transportes AS, a large lift and transport specialist in Portugal, used a combination of the "Enerpac SBL500 telescopic hydraulic gantry" and side shift to accurately position two presses weighing up to 160 tons. At the new factory location, each press was slid into place and rotated on a turntable to face the correct direction for lifting. The presses needed to be placed on a reinforced concrete platform that supported each press and provided a level surface. The company used the "SBL500 gantry" and side shift unit to lift the presses and align them with the platform. "We were able to maneuver the presses in three dimensions using the Enerpac side shift. Without it, accurately positioning the presses would have been very difficult," was the feedback received. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
