The FRM220-16G-3R has four SFP+ slots that can be used for a dual-channel 16G 3R multi-rate transponder or as a protection mode feature that allows for 1-to-2 port line switching. This device supports various protocols such as 1G/10G Ethernet, SDH STM16/STM64, OTU1/OTU1e/OTU2/OTU2e, Fibre Channel 1/2/4/8/10/16, ODU, OBSAI, CPRI, etc., providing flexible transmission. By using dedicated CWDM or DWDM wavelengths SFP+, the 16G transponder supports multi-rate functionality with optical communication speeds ranging from 1Gbps to a maximum of 14Gbps. This capability makes the FRM220-16G-3R transponder suitable as a repeater for transmission over extended distances. Recent improvements in component performance have significantly enhanced power conditions and heat dissipation compared to previous transponders.

This device supports various protocols such as 1G Ethernet, SDH STM-16, OC-24, OC-48, Fibre Channel 1/2, OBSAI, and CPRI, providing flexible transmission. By using dedicated CWDM or DWDM wavelengths SFP+, the 4G transponder supports multi-rate functionality with optical communication speeds ranging from 1Gbps to a maximum of 4.25Gbps. This capability makes the FRM220-4G-3R transponder suitable for use as a repeater for transmission over extended distances. Recent improvements in component performance have significantly enhanced power conditions and heat dissipation compared to previous transponders.

The transmission port features detachable 8 pairs of multi-rate SFP/SFP+ ports, capable of transmitting up to 80G in a single-core/dual-core bidirectional configuration or 40G in two sets of single-core bidirectional using WDM. Optionally, high-density WDM filters and amplifiers can be added within the same chassis, enabling space-saving long-distance transmission. This allows for significant total cost reductions in fiber costs and network nodes. The transmission ports can be paired and used independently as 8 separate repeaters (media converters). *DCWDM2108 allows for mixed port configurations such as 1GE/OC48/10GE/OC192, but rate conversion is not possible. It is equipped with local and remote monitoring functions (SNMP/syslog) via LAN and OSC, as well as local monitoring through a serial console and office alarm contacts.
