Free membership registrationTo meet the future demand for the large-scale introduction of solar power generation, mere improvements on the existing solar power systems are insufficient, and the success of organic solar cells is essential. It is required not only that the materials are inexpensive but also that fast and low-cost manufacturing methods, such as the Roll to Roll process, are realized to promise significant cost reductions. Dye-sensitized solar cells, which have advantages in conversion efficiency and durability, are expected to be the most practical among organic solar cells. This presentation will explain the current status and prospects of the development of dye-sensitized solar cells using a low-temperature film formation method with zinc oxide.

Free membership registration**Lecture Summary** I would like to discuss the technical points when applying precision coating technology to the electronics (electronic materials) field, the challenges that should be considered during the development stage (formulation design, coating technology, delivery technology), and the issues that are likely to arise during the practical implementation stage (coating streaks, coating unevenness, uneven film thickness distribution, etc.), along with their causes and countermeasures, based on my on-site experience. This time, I will focus on the die coating technology commonly used in the electronic materials field, specifically addressing issues related to coating streaks (vertical streaks), coating unevenness (horizontal unevenness, drying unevenness), and variations in film thickness.

Free membership registration**Lecture Summary** Semiconductor packaging technology is an important technology that enhances the functionality of electronic devices, alongside semiconductor miniaturization technology and logic design technology. It continues to lead the world in semiconductor packaging materials and assembly equipment. In recent years, the technology has evolved from SiP (System in Package) using multi-layer stacking of elements to MiP (Multi functions in a Package), which integrates not only electronic conduction but also wireless (RF) and optical (photon) functions within a single package. As LED assembly technology becomes a crucial technology for the MiP era, this presentation will provide an overview of the current LED assembly technology and discuss future development directions and impacts on the market.

Free membership registration**Lecture Summary** In our country, the utilization of industrial pure titanium has primarily developed based on its corrosion resistance, but domestic demand is only about 10,000 tons per year (compared to approximately 100,000 tons globally). On the other hand, in the United States, development has focused on high-strength, heat-resistant alloys for aircraft structures and engines, including military aircraft. In the future, growth is also expected in our country in fields that leverage the high specific strength of titanium alloys. The challenges for the titanium material industry are cost reduction and the development of new demand areas. To achieve this, it is essential to have a good understanding of the fundamental physical properties (advantages and disadvantages) of industrial pure titanium and high-strength titanium alloys, as well as knowledge of user fields. Titanium does not rust, making it usable for semi-permanent periods, and when considering its long lifespan with no maintenance required, it becomes cost-effective. At the same time, it contributes to energy savings and is an environmentally friendly metal. This presentation will discuss the challenges facing the titanium industry, particularly in sectors such as automotive, medical, and construction/civil engineering.

Free membership registration**Lecture Summary** As exemplified by recent recall issues, the impact of reliability problems on companies is immeasurable. Among various quality characteristics, reliability is the most fundamental, and companies are required to ensure reliability even while developing products in a short period. Reliability is determined by design. In other words, data-driven improvements are essential for enhancing reliability, necessitating appropriate testing scales, sample acquisition, and analysis. This course aims to introduce the basic methods for determining testing scales and data quantities, as well as analysis techniques, based on the concepts and foundational knowledge of reliability, targeting engineers involved in the design and improvement of reliability.
