At Hospital #H, which was built 48 years ago, the air conditioning chilled and warm water piping using galvanized steel pipes (SGP) has experienced significant deterioration due to red rust, leading to leaks. Therefore, a red rust prevention piping extension device, the "NMR Pipe Protector," was installed. Before installation, a sample of the circulating chilled and warm water was taken, revealing a total iron concentration of 2.5 mg/l, indicating that red rust corrosion was progressing within the piping. Four weeks after the installation of the product, a subsequent water sample showed a significant reduction in total iron concentration to 0.4 mg/l. A water sample taken six years after installation showed an even further reduction to 0.2 mg/l, confirming that the progression of new red rust within the chilled water piping had completely stopped. The existing red rust had transformed into an insoluble, passive black rust with a volume reduced to one-tenth. [NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Nursing Facility #HO

The red rust inside the water supply pipe has transformed into hard crystalline black rust with a volume reduction of 1/10! The rehabilitation of the piping due to the black rust formation from red rust has been confirmed!

This nursing facility had experienced significant deterioration due to red rust in the water supply and hot water supply pipes. Therefore, when the building was 25 years old, a red rust prevention device called the "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed in the water supply pipe on the secondary side of the rooftop water tank and in the hot water supply pipe on the secondary side of the boiler. Before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the iron ion concentration in the water supply was 2.27 mg/l, and the color degree was 20, indicating severe deterioration due to red rust in the pipes. Four weeks after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the iron ion concentration in the water dropped to 0.46 mg/l, and the color degree improved to 5, showing a significant improvement in water quality. Furthermore, the water quality test results 12 weeks after installation showed that the iron ion concentration was 0.03 mg/l, and the color degree was less than 0.5. The red rust in the water supply pipe had transformed into hard crystalline black rust with a volume reduction of 1/10, stopping the leaching of red rust into the water. The rehabilitation of the pipes due to the black rust formation was confirmed. This demonstrated that if the use of the NMR Pipe Protector continues, both the water supply and hot water supply pipes can be extended to the lifespan of the building.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Hospital #NT

A case where the progression of new red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping completely stopped just 52 days after installation!

The hospital had been built for 27 years at the time, and the air conditioning chilled and warm water piping, which used galvanized steel pipes (SGP), was experiencing significant deterioration due to red rust, raising concerns about leaks. Before the red rust corrosion could progress any further, a red rust prevention piping extension device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. After 52 days of installation, under the same conditions, the water sampled from the air conditioning warm water showed a transparent color, and the water quality test results indicated that the iron ion concentration in the water was 0.27 mg/l, which is below the water quality standard value (1.0 mg/l) set by the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association. Non-scaler introduction case: Cooling tower

A case of preventing the adhesion of calcium scale that adheres to the outer cooling fins of a cooling tower.

The cooling water used in open-type central air conditioning cooling towers has its calcium concentration rise to about 7 to 10 times that of the make-up water (source water) due to evaporation, resulting in the formation of hard calcium carbonate crystals on the surface of the cooling fins outside the cooling tower, which reduces cooling efficiency. Prevention of calcium scale adhesion and cooling efficiency in heat exchangers! A case study that reduced the frequency of line stoppages due to pump disassembly and cleaning once every 1.2 months.

The heat exchanger at the chemical plant was subject to calcium scale buildup, necessitating disassembly, cleaning, and washing every five months. When scale accumulated on the heat exchanger, it reduced cooling efficiency and negatively impacted product quality. [NMR Pipe Protector] Effectiveness Demonstrated through X-ray Inspection | Hokkaido Condominium

Effectiveness demonstrated by X-ray inspection of the water supply pipes in the condominium 19 years after the installation of the NMR pipe protector.

Nineteen years after the installation of the NMR pipe protector, an inspection was conducted by the condominium management association of a 9-story, 110-unit building in Sapporo, Hokkaido, when the building was 32 years old. They commissioned an external investigation company to examine the condition of red rust deterioration at the water supply pipe joints. Ten locations were selected within the pipe space of the water supply pipes (pipe diameters 25A to 65A) from the 1st to the 9th floor, and a non-destructive inspection using X-rays was performed on the joint areas. The results of the X-ray inspection showed that out of the ten locations, eight had no signs of red rust deterioration at the pipe joints. The other two locations showed only slight traces of corrosion, which were estimated to have occurred before the installation of the NMR pipe protector. This demonstrated that the red rust deterioration of the water supply pipes in this condominium had been completely prevented. Although the NMR pipe protector cannot prevent corrosion on the outside of the pipes, slight external corrosion was observed. [NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Fukuoka Prefecture Condominium

After 16 years of installation, the effectiveness verification shows a reduction in red rust blockage rate from 50.7% to 41.2%, an improvement of 18.7%! This demonstrates the effectiveness of red rust prevention and pipe lifespan extension.

A follow-up survey was conducted in a condominium in Fukuoka Prefecture, 16 years after the installation of the NMR pipe protector. Before installation, the joints of the water supply pipes in Rooms A and B were inspected with a fiberscope, revealing red rust blockage rates of 50.7% and 78.2%, respectively, indicating significant progression of red rust blockage and the need for early intervention. Consequently, the NMR pipe protector was installed in the water supply piping. One year after installation, a follow-up survey was conducted under the same conditions as before installation, and the red rust blockage rates for Rooms A and B were as follows: [One Year After Installation] Room A: 50.7% → 48% [5.3%] reduction improvement Room B: 78.2% → 74.1% [5.2%] reduction improvement [Sixteen Years After Installation] Room A: 50.7% → 41.2% [18.7%] reduction improvement Room B: 78.2% → 68.4% [12.5%] reduction improvement From the above reduction improvement rates in red rust blockage, it was demonstrated that the NMR pipe protector completely prevented the occurrence of new red rust and that the red rust blockage transformed into black rust with a volume reduction to one-tenth. Additionally, it was proven that as long as this condominium remains standing for another 20 or 30 years, pipe replacement will not be necessary.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Hotel Serve Shibuya

Completely prevent water leakage damage from air conditioning piping used in hotels!

At Hotel Serve Shibuya, galvanized steel pipes (SGP) are used for the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, and there was a concern about the deterioration due to red rust and leakage from the joints. As a countermeasure against red rust deterioration and leakage, a red rust prevention pipe longevity device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. Before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, water samples were taken from the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, revealing that the water was tinted light brown, with a total iron content of 5.8 mg/l, indicating significant red rust corrosion within the pipes. Two weeks after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the total iron content in the water within the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping significantly decreased to 0.6 mg/l. In a water sample taken four weeks after the installation, the water was nearly transparent, with the total iron content further reduced to 0.5 mg/l. It was proven that new red rust was completely prevented within the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, and the existing red rust had transformed into inert black rust. Going forward, if the use of the NMR Pipe Protector continues to prevent external corrosion at Hotel Serve Shibuya, all red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping will change to black rust, and it has been demonstrated that this piping can be extended to the lifespan of the building. Naturally, leakage has been completely prevented thereafter.

Proving rust prevention effects through an effectiveness evaluation 10 years after installation!

This property has been in existence for 30 years, and there has been significant red rust blockage at the water supply pipe joints. Therefore, the red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" was adopted. When measuring the red rust blockage in the water supply pipes of Room A and Room B, it was found that before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, Room A had a blockage rate of 43.2% and Room B had a rate of 50.9%. 【Red Rust Blockage Rate One Year After Installation】 Room A: 41.7% Room B: 50.6% 【Red Rust Blockage Rate Five Years After Installation】 Room A: 39.7% Room B: 49.8%, confirming a reduction improvement rate of 8.1% and 2.1% respectively compared to before installation. 【Red Rust Blockage Rate Ten Years After Installation】 Room A: decreased to 36.8% Room B: decreased to 37.5%, showing a significant reduction in red rust of 48% for Room A and 26.3% for Room B compared to before installation. From these results, it has been demonstrated that the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector has halted the progression of red rust deterioration in the pipes, and the existing red rust has been reduced to black rust with a volume of less than 1/10, proving the effectiveness of pipe rehabilitation and red rust prevention.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Moseley Hospital (NHS)

Prevent red rust and leaks in the hot water piping of Moseley Hospital!

Moseley Hospital has two independent hot water systems: one connected to the storage tank and the other connected to the hot water header, with galvanized steel pipes used in the hot water piping. As a result, NMR pipe protectors were installed in the storage tank piping and the hot water header piping to prevent red rust corrosion and leaks in both hot water systems. Water samples were taken from the hot water piping at five locations, and the average iron content in the water was calculated. Before the installation of the NMR pipe protectors, the average value was 13.824 mg/l. After 15 weeks of installation, it decreased to 1.3882 mg/l; after 31 weeks, it further decreased to 0.4762 mg/l; and after 49 weeks, it reached 0.3428 mg/l, showing a significant reduction. This result demonstrated that the NMR pipe protectors prevented the formation of new red rust within the pipes and reduced existing red rust to black rust, which is insoluble in water and has a volume that is one-tenth of that of red rust. It has been proven that by continuing to install NMR pipe protectors, the hot water piping will transform 100% of the red rust within the pipes into black rust, thereby extending the lifespan of the building.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Windsor Castle

Preventing red rust deterioration of the hot water piping at Windsor Castle in the UK!

The hot water supply pipes used in Windsor Castle, owned by the British royal family and with a history of 900 years, utilize SGP pipes. To prevent red rust deterioration and extend the lifespan of the pipes, an NMR Pipe Protector was installed on January 24, 2007. Before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the iron content in the water in Room 107 was 3.32 mg/l, but 42 days after installation, it dropped to 0.007 mg/l. Additionally, the average iron content from two other sampling locations was 4.255 mg/l before installation, but decreased to 0.0105 mg/l after installation. This is significantly lower than the drinking water quality standard set by the UK, which is 0.2 mg/l. As a result, it has been demonstrated that the NMR Pipe Protector effectively prevents the occurrence of new red rust within the pipes and transforms existing red rust into black rust, which does not dissolve in water. By continuing to use the NMR Pipe Protector, the hot water supply pipes have completely eliminated internal red rust deterioration and, by preventing external corrosion, have become usable for as long as the building remains standing.

Effect of the calcium scale solidification adhesion prevention device "Non-Scaler"

The calcium scale prevention device "Non-Scaler" solves the calcium scaling problem in hot water boilers without using ion exchange resins or strong alkaline agents.

Calcium scale inevitably adheres to the interior of hot water boilers and similar equipment. To reduce the adhesion of calcium scale, traditionally, ion exchange resins have been used to soften the water by removing calcium ions before producing hot water in the boiler. The residual calcium in the water crystallizes as insoluble calcium carbonate within the boiler and adheres to it. Traditionally, strong alkaline agents were added to the boiler to prevent the formation reaction of calcium carbonate. However, strong alkaline hot water is highly corrosive to metals, leading to corrosion and deterioration of the boiler itself, internal piping, and hot water piping, which shortens the lifespan of the boiler and connected piping systems to around 10 years. The calcium scale prevention device "Non-Scaler" reacts the calcium in the water with free carbon dioxide within the Non-Scaler, forcibly transforming it into fine particles of calcium carbonate that are dispersed and flow in the water. Once calcium carbonate is converted into fine particles, it remains unchanged even under the high temperature and pressure conditions inside the boiler, flowing in its particulate state. Additionally, the effects of corrosion and deterioration caused by strong alkaline agents are eliminated, making it possible to extend the lifespan of the boiler and hot water piping by more than double.
