New Release of Explosion-Proof LED Lighting (LZWA Series) Seiwa Electric Co., Ltd. is launching the explosion-proof LED lighting fixture (LZWA series), which is the first internationally certified explosion-proof product in the domestic industry as a base lighting fixture, as part of the new lineup of the <STARLED★S> series. The explosion-proof LED lighting fixture (LZWA series) aims for a compact and lightweight design while ensuring the same illuminance and light distribution as conventional fluorescent fixtures (HF fluorescent 45W x 2 lamps). It measures within 30 cm in both width and height, and weighs only 5 kg. This reduces the burden of installation work and improves safety due to the smaller contact area. Utilizing our unique optical design technology, we ensure efficient brightness in both normal and emergency situations through light distribution control. Particularly during emergency lighting, the installation spacing can be wider than traditional light sources (fluorescent lamps), allowing for a reduction in the number of units installed and lowering initial costs. The straight tube LED lamp, which serves as the light source during normal operation, is housed in a highly sealed lamp protection cover, making it resistant to dirt and corrosion, and protecting the lamp from external impacts. Since a straight tube LED lamp is used, lamp replacement is possible. During a power outage, the emergency light source is consolidated at the end of the fixture and lights up using a built-in battery. When installed in the same area as the sealed LED fixtures (LCMA series), the design can be unified. Additionally, a lamp monitor (green) lights up to indicate the charging status of the emergency light at a glance. If the green lamp is lit during normal operation, it indicates normal function; if the lamp monitor is off, it is time to replace the rechargeable battery due to its lifespan. The estimated lifespan of the rechargeable battery is 4 to 6 years. Battery replacement can be easily and quickly performed while the fixture is installed.

Currently, emergency lighting fixtures specified by the Building Standards Act are limited to "incandescent lamps" and "fluorescent lamps," and the use of LEDs as emergency light sources has not been permitted. Therefore, while there have been LED emergency lighting fixtures that received certification based on the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's certification system and passed the self-assessment of emergency lighting fixtures by the Japan Lighting Manufacturers Association, they could not be used in explosion-proof areas where there is a risk of explosion or fire. In response to the many voices wishing for the use of LED as an emergency light source even in explosion-proof areas, we have developed explosion-proof emergency LED lighting fixtures that have passed type testing from the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association, received certification from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and display the JIL mark from the Japan Lighting Manufacturers Association, making us the first in the domestic industry to do so. Orders will begin on September 15, 2016. Since the JIL mark is affixed to the product, the building confirmation process can continue smoothly as before.

The "Joint Box with Internal Wiring" (SBJA Series) has a protection rating equivalent to IP68 against water and dust, making it an optimal structure for the humid environment inside poles. It comes with pre-wired connections, ensuring safety and ease of connection, while also allowing for easy inspection. The explosion-proof LED lighting fixtures (LZWA series) aim for a compact and lightweight design while ensuring the same illuminance and light distribution as conventional fluorescent fixtures (HF fluorescent 45W x 2 lamps).
