[Seminar] Trends and Future Outlook of International Submarine Cable Projects
[Speaker]
Yoshio Sato, Department Manager, Network Services Division, NTT Limited Japan, Service Department
[Key Lecture Content]
We will organize the fundamentals of the submarine cable business, changes in the international communication market and industry structure, and the necessity of establishing a new company. International traffic has repeatedly evolved in quantity and quality, making low latency, stability, and redundancy essential. On the other hand, the traditional consortium model has limitations in addressing construction costs, timelines, and uncertainties. In response to these environmental changes, we will redefine infrastructure from "service" to "product," aiming for the establishment of a new company that balances risks and growth opportunities, and outline the direction of the next-generation digital infrastructure envisioned by the NTT Group.
