[Key Lecture Content]
As population decline and aging progress, regional revitalization and urban development have become important themes not only for local governments but also for companies. In recent years, there have been movements where companies engage in regional issues and urban development beyond their existing businesses, such as Toyota's Woven City, Nagasaki Stadium City, and East Japan Railway Company's redevelopment of station areas and urban development along railway lines. This lecture will organize how companies can apply their strengths to regional issues from the perspectives of public transportation, station area redevelopment, life services, and tourism. Furthermore, it will explain the necessary points to consider when examining business opportunities, such as understanding regional issues, public-private partnerships, sustainability, and balancing public interest.
