[Key Lecture Content]
Due to increasing resource constraints and geopolitical risks, companies are required to develop supply chain strategies that balance decarbonization and resource circulation, as well as transform product design. This lecture positions Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) not just as a method for calculating environmental impact, but as a management tool that supports the advancement of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and the realization of resource circulation strategies. It will provide an overview of the latest trends related to decarbonization and resource circulation, while explaining decision-making approaches that consider the entire lifecycle from procurement, manufacturing, usage, recovery, to re-resourceing. The lecture will also discuss how companies should collect and utilize data to build a circular value chain that includes procurement, design, manufacturing, and recycling, incorporating examples from both domestic and international contexts.
