Western blotting is a method for analyzing and quantifying proteins. Proteins are separated by gel electrophoresis and transferred to a solid support (PVDF membrane). Antibodies can induce an antigen-antibody immune reaction with the target proteins attached to the PVDF membrane. The Western blotting technique is used to identify specific proteins and analyze them semi-quantitatively.

Immunoblot Membrane: Cobetter PVDF transfer membranes are characterized by high sensitivity and low background in Western blotting. Since PVDF membranes are hydrophobic, they need to be pre-wetted with methanol. We offer pre-cut membrane sheets and roll types. 0.45 µm is suitable for most Western blot applications. 0.2 µm is suitable for Western blotting of low molecular weight proteins under 20 kDa.
