Understanding the cultivation conditions of microorganisms by smell!
In the field of microbial culture, there is growing interest in technologies that monitor the growth of microorganisms. Understanding the growth without altering the clean, sterile, and anaerobic conditions is crucial for stable cultivation of microbes. Our company will utilize an odor sensor based on membrane-type surface stress sensors (MSS) to detect odors generated during microbial culture, enabling monitoring of the cultivation conditions. By measuring odors, it becomes possible to understand microbial growth non-contact without sampling from the culture medium. We will first evaluate the potential of this odor sensor through contract measurements to determine whether it can detect odors generated in the microbial cultures used by our customers and assess the feasibility of utilizing the odor sensor. 【Application Scenarios】 - Understanding the growth status of microbes in the culture medium - Evaluating whether the culture is progressing appropriately 【Benefits of Implementation】 - Stable microbial cultivation - Early detection of contamination events
