When steel continues to be subjected to stress at high temperatures exceeding approximately 450°C, "creep" becomes a problem, where deformation progresses over time even under stresses lower than the yield strength. During long-term operation, issues such as graphitization, carbide growth, oxidation, and reduction in toughness may also occur, and there may be cases where the material does not return to its original performance after cooling. At temperatures around 450 to 650°C, materials with creep strength and allowable stress corresponding to the operating temperature and stress are required. SB materials, Mo-added SB materials, SCMV materials, and heat-resistant stainless steels will be compared based on applicable standards. At even higher temperatures, candidates include SUS310S-HR and NCF-type heat-resistant alloys.
