Notification as a Business Handler of Poisonous and Deleterious Substances
CC-13 | Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Act | Business handler notification
For plants using poisonous or deleterious substances in electroplating or metal heat treatment. From determining whether notification is needed to filing within 30 days.
Businesses that handle poisonous or deleterious substances such as cyanides in electroplating, metal heat treatment and similar work must file a business handler notification within 30 days of starting to handle them (Article 22, Paragraph 1). The 30 days run from the day a new substance starts to be used or the covered business begins. Notified sites must appoint a dedicated poisonous and deleterious substances handling supervisor and notify the appointment within 30 days. Even businesses that do not need to notify may be subject to rules on storage and labeling. Our administrative scrivener, a qualified poisonous and deleterious substances handling supervisor, determines from the substances and industry whether notification is needed, and handles the business handler notification, the supervisor appointment notification, and change and discontinuation notifications.
