Conducted DME combustion tests of a heat exchanger integrated waste heat recovery burner in collaboration with Hiroshima Gas Co., Ltd.
In the LP gas industry, while aiming for future green LP gasification, the immediate focus is on low carbonization through co-firing with r (renewable) DME (dimethyl ether), which has similar physical properties to LP gas. Recently, we conducted verification tests on "combustion stability" and "combustion characteristics" in industrial gas burners using DME co-firing with LP gas, and confirmed the following results: 1. Established specifications for stable combustion across the entire range of DME mixing ratios from 0 to 100%. There was no change in flame length across the mixing ratio range, and the luminous flame characteristics remain unchanged with DME mixing ratios from 0 to 30%. 2. Achieved combustion characteristics equivalent to LP gas. It is also possible to operate on pure DME. At mixing ratios from 0 to 100%, we achieved NOx and CO values equivalent to LPG specifications. 3. Pure DME combustion results in stable combustion with a blue flame.
