Taiyo Yuden has commercialized a high-voltage multilayer ceramic capacitor, the "XMK432 B7472KY" (4.5x3.2x2.0mm, X7R), with a rated voltage of 2000V. This product is used for lightning surge protection (Note 1) in base station communication devices and wireless LAN access point input/output sections, as well as for noise suppression applications in DC-DC converters for industrial equipment. For lightning surge protection, a high-voltage multilayer ceramic capacitor that can withstand high surge voltages caused by lightning strikes is required. Therefore, Taiyo Yuden optimized the materials and internal structure of the multilayer ceramic capacitor to achieve the rated voltage of 2000V with the "XMK432 B7472KY." ■Terminology Explanation (Note 1) Lightning Surge - A momentary high voltage caused by lightning strikes. Many electronic devices have connections to the outside, such as antennas and cables, and if appropriate lightning surge protection measures are not taken, high voltages can be transmitted through these connections into the device, potentially leading to damage.

Nichicon has developed the "GYB Series" of conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which guarantee high performance in response to the demands for aluminum electrolytic capacitors in the consumer and industrial equipment sectors, featuring high temperature, long life, and high ripple capability with a guarantee of 10,000 hours at 105°C. Features: The conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitor utilizes a conductive polymer and electrolyte in its electrolyte, combining the low ESR performance and high heat resistance characteristic of conductive polymers with the oxidation film repair capability provided by the electrolyte. By optimizing the film formation process of the conductive polymer and using an electrolyte that is compatible with the conductive polymer, we have achieved a ripple current tolerance that is 1.2 to 1.4 times higher compared to the current GYA series. Additionally, we have realized a long lifespan guarantee of 10,000 hours at 105°C.

Nichicon has developed the "UCQ Series," a chip-type aluminum electrolytic capacitor with the highest sound quality in the industry, as the optimal audio capacitor for enhancing the high sound quality of devices. Features This product achieves improved sound quality compared to the current 105°C audio aluminum electrolytic capacitor "UUQ Series." To realize the best sound quality for automotive audio equipment, a newly developed audio-specific electrolytic paper has been adopted. In pursuit of ideal sound quality, we carefully select raw materials, adjust the density and thickness of the electrolytic paper, and conduct repeated listening evaluations. It excels in sound resolution and does not cause any stress. By adopting this series, it is possible to contribute to the enhancement of high sound quality in devices. Durability is guaranteed for 105°C for 2000 hours (for some sizes, 105°C for 1000 hours).

Nichicon has expanded the compact size of its long-life, small, low-impedance lead-type aluminum electrolytic capacitor "UHW Series," primarily used for LED lighting and power supplies, and improved its durability for 63-100V applications. Features The "UHW Series" achieves a maximum durability of 12,000 hours (at 105°C), which is the highest level in the industry for low-impedance products used in power supplies, by using an electrolyte that optimizes product design and enhances low impedance and long life. In terms of miniaturization, compared to the current UHE series, for a size of Φ10x16L (mm), the capacitance has increased from 820μF to 1200μF, achieving approximately 1.5 times higher capacitance. For low impedance, in the case of the 100V product with a size of Φ5x11L (mm), an approximately 50% reduction in impedance has been achieved.
