The "TU Vienna Space Team," operated by students of the Vienna University of Technology, is working on the rocket project "Lamarr," which focuses on launching a liquid rocket using ethanol and liquid oxygen as propellants. A student team from Delft, Netherlands, is developing a bipropellant rocket powered by hydrogen peroxide. In the search for optimal components, KELLER Pressure became involved. Rockets using hydrogen peroxide as a propellant are not new. However, this fuel method has hardly been used since World War II and the early days of space development. "We wanted to recreate this fuel at a student level, in a low-cost and from-scratch development approach. Initially, the goal was simply to 'get it to fly,' but as we progressed, we evolved to the stage of designing a 'flyable vehicle.'" Two types of KELLER Pressure sensors are being used (M5HB for measuring pressure inside the engine and 7LC for measuring the pressure in the hydrogen peroxide and ethanol tanks).
