Contec has developed a system device that automatically assesses the six-step handwashing process recommended by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare using AI technology, and began sales of the AI handwashing assessment system "IVA-HW100" on January 21, 2025. This product is a system device that automatically evaluates the correctness of the six-step handwashing actions through image recognition using AI technology. By accumulating learning of the inference model through demonstration experiments with food manufacturers, it assesses the correctness of each handwashing step with an accuracy of over 95% (Note 1). The adoption of NVIDIA's AI module Jetson enables advanced AI processing, and it comes standard with a dedicated camera, power cable, and self-supporting stand, allowing for immediate operation upon purchase. It features user authentication via IC cards or QR codes, and the ability to save handwashing record data, enabling monitoring records of handwashing processes in accordance with HACCP. It is equipped with FTP network communication capabilities, allowing for integration with external systems. Additionally, it can display messages in different languages, making it useful for hygiene management training for foreign employees. Note 1: This refers to the accuracy rate of our inference model using our evaluation dataset.
