In this project, we are engineering a heating furnace with an air preheater, platform, and auxiliary support structures. There were two major challenges in this project. The first was the need to fit equipment into the confined space of the existing plant, while also facing constraints in the work area due to project specifications and equipment requirements. Through three-dimensional modeling with "Tekla Structures," we were able to accurately understand all requirements early in the project, evaluate the pros and cons of possible options, and confirm accessibility. The next challenge arose from layout changes to the equipment that occurred later in the project, necessitating extensive additional design work that affected both structural components and auxiliary support structures. The contractor conducted extensive laser scanning of the bedrock surface at the construction site, and this information was used in the design of the foundation for excavation and the installation of stress anchors. Fulton Hogan Quarries undertook a project to renovate the crushing and screening plant at the Blue Rock Quarry located in Cedar Creek, Queensland, Australia. The Blue Rock Quarry is situated approximately 50 km south of Brisbane's city center. The objective of this project was to expand the production capacity of the crushing and screening plant to meet the anticipated increase in demand for aggregate and road base products. Proindustrial Construction Company (Portugal) closely collaborated with contractors NascoTech and Southern Cross Engineering to carry out the civil works and structural design of the steel structures for this complex facility. The company was also responsible for creating various types of drawings and documents used in steel fabrication, including detailed designs for connections and joints, as well as shop drawings. Although this was a challenging project that required design collaboration between remote locations in Australia and Portugal, significant achievements were made thanks to the use of Tekla Structure and the dedicated efforts of the participating team members.

The first challenge of this project was to recreate the design model of the existing building from scratch in order to add a new structure. The modeling was based on a manual created by Bordan Châtauneuf in 1970. Using point cloud data obtained from a 3D scan of the existing structure, the components were adjusted by a few centimeters. It was confirmed that the measured point cloud data had position information very close to that of the actual building. This "research" faced several unexpected challenges, but despite the difficulties, it became possible to continue working by utilizing Tekla ModelSharing.

The Integrated Transport Center is the largest investment project of the Lublin city government, and as part of this, the contractor Budimex has constructed a new bus station along with the reconstruction of the transport system. The company responsible for this impressive steel structure is Mostostal Kraków. The highlight of this project, the Lublin Metropolitan Bus Terminal's roof, is a representative landmark of Lublin, with the weight of the steel columns and truss sections with crowns totaling approximately 1550 tons. Its artistic appearance is composed of precise processing techniques and complex welding. MTA Engineering was responsible for the structural calculations, and the design engineering department of Mostostal Kraków led the detailed design work. The Tampere Deck Arena project is part of a large-scale development taking place around the central station of Finland's third-largest city. The construction of a unique activity complex that has emerged above the railway tracks in downtown Tampere was a highly unusual and challenging project even on an international level. The scale of construction, the complexity arising from various design requirements, the number of stakeholders involved, and overlapping responsibilities were challenges for the project, but these issues were resolved by combining various BIM models. One of the challenges faced by the designers was the coordination of interference issues that would have been unmanageable without the use of BIM for a project of this scale. By utilizing BIM, adjustments to the structures around the railway tracks and the positioning of ceilings and equipment were carried out without any problems. A large number of engineers participated in this project, and advanced BIM software was helpful when explaining construction decisions. Additionally, the use of BIM software allowed designers and other project stakeholders to focus on key tasks such as design and project management.
