Automating the inter-process transportation of bearings with FCS, which effectively utilizes limited space. We will introduce a case that achieved significant labor reduction and quality improvement.
【Customer Requests / Issues】
- Currently, the transportation from the exit of the previous process to the entrance of the next process is connected using a combination of an up-and-down lifter and a traditional ribbon chute that utilizes free fall.
■ Issues
- Scratches occur on products in the chute section.
- Responding to production halts and changing setups takes time.
- There are many work-in-progress items, making production management difficult.
- Even for automation, the required transportation routes are complex and space is limited, necessitating multiple transfers in vertical, horizontal, and lateral directions.
- There is a need to respond to faster cycle times.
- Ease of operation, such as reducing setup changes, is required.
- Standardization of specifications.
- Just-in-time automated transportation and improved traceability are needed.
【Results After FCS Implementation】
By flexibly constructing transportation paths and introducing the FCS-H300, which enables high-speed three-dimensional transportation, we achieved automatic single-item transportation just-in-time, which was not possible before. This led to significant improvements in quality, production management, reduction of setup changes, and efficiency in equipment maintenance, greatly enhancing overall productivity.
