0245 Installation to the hopper of the metal powder screw feeder.

Introducing a case of installation in a hopper of a screw feeder for metal powder.

In the metal powder hopper, we installed a conical shape inside to reduce the powder pressure to prevent bridging, but it did not improve. We received an inquiry about trying a Brodie disk. The customer expressed a desire to borrow it, stating, "I would like to avoid installing it suddenly (as it requires drilling a hole in the hopper), and first, I want to check the actual item." Therefore, we attached the Brodie disk to a resin plate that simulated the hopper wall and sent it. The customer connected the air and confirmed the air discharge. After embedding it in the powder inside the hopper and confirming the air discharge in that state, they decided to adopt it. Since then, they have evaluated that it is operating stably. 【Overview】 ■ Material: Metal powder (particle size: unknown) ■ Bulk density: Approximately 2.5 ■ Hopper size: 1300×2000 * For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous examples of implementations. 0284 Bridge measures for silica powder.

Introducing a case of a blow disc adopted by a powder equipment manufacturer.

This is a request from a powder handling equipment manufacturer. A bridging phenomenon occurred in the raw material feed hopper of the equipment delivered to the user, which was not initially anticipated. After installing a knocker, there was no improvement, and they inquired if there was anything that could be done. We proposed installing a total of four Brody disk standard types: one on each of the two sides and two on the remaining side with a relatively gentle slope, and they decided to implement this solution. As a result, the bridging issue was resolved easily without any particular troubles. 【Overview Conditions】 ■ Hopper Dimensions: 1500×800 ■ Discharge Port Dimensions: 125A ■ Material Name: Silica Powder ■ Average Particle Diameter: Approximately 300 microns ■ Bulk Density: About 0.25 * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous case studies, which can be accessed via the link below.

Example of installation in a resin powder storage bunker.

Introducing examples of continued adoption by resin material manufacturing companies.

At the resin raw material manufacturing company, to promote discharge from the bunker, a "blow disk" was adopted near the discharge outlet located at the bottom of the silo (conical part, midway). This time, we were consulted about installing this equipment in the area opposite the discharge outlet, as the powder there was not moving and was piling up like a mountain, in order to effectively utilize the bunker’s volume. We communicated that completely eliminating the pile was difficult and presented a proposal for installation. It was later decided to implement the solution, and the results have improved to a level acceptable to the customer. [Overview] ■ Material: Resin powder (prone to clumping) ■ Bunker capacity: 200m3 * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous case studies. 0151 Rat Hole Measures - Chemical Material Manufacturer

Easily resolve troubles! We will propose installation examples and operating conditions that match the customer's requirements.

We would like to introduce a case of rat hole prevention at a chemical materials manufacturer. Normally, the powder does not pose significant issues and can be discharged from the hopper, but when it contains 3% moisture, its flowability deteriorates significantly. Traditionally, only vibrators were used, and for materials with high moisture content, in addition to the vibrations from the vibrator, air purging from a quick-connect fitting was employed. However, this did not completely eliminate the rat hole issue, leading to the introduction of our equipment, which easily resolved the challenge. [Overview] ■ Hopper Size: 1500×1500 ■ Installation Position: 2 units installed on each side (total of 8 units) * For details, please feel free to contact us. * For more information, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous implementation examples, which can be checked via the link below.

0322 At the fertilizer manufacturing plant

Introducing a case study of the "Brodisk" adopted by a fertilizer manufacturing facility.

We would like to introduce a case that was brought to us by the maintenance representative of a fertilizer manufacturing facility. They are experiencing blockages in the hopper section of their manufacturing plant's dust collector and are troubled by this issue. Although bridging phenomena are occurring in other equipment as well, they have damaged the hopper due to measures such as hammering. Therefore, they requested a solution that would not cause damage to the hopper this time. The equipment is designed to utilize air injection from all around the silicone disk installed on the inner surface of the hopper, along with the effects of the vibration of the silicone disk during air ejection. Since it involves air injection and the vibration of the silicone rubber disk, it will not damage the hopper itself. [Overview] ■ Dust collector hopper dimensions: Approximately 1600×2200 ■ Number of blow disks installed: 12 * This time, 12 disks were installed to reduce the risk of residue remaining in the four corners of the hopper. * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website contains numerous examples of implementations, which can be checked via the link below.

0370 Promotion of the outflow of titanium dioxide mixture

An example of installing a larger number of broad disks/broad disk minis to mitigate risks.

This is a consultation request from an engineering company. Due to the discharge diameter being 3S and relatively small, we installed two Bro-Disk Minis at different heights in this area, and four Bro-Disks on the circumference above, for a total of eight units. A key point this time is that the Bro-Disk Minis installed below have a lower air flow compared to the Bro-Disks, so we have conducted two consecutive air ON operations. After delivery, we received feedback stating, "The Bro-Disk Minis installed near the discharge area were absolutely necessary." At the intermediate processing plant for industrial waste

An example of installing a blow disk to solve the problem of not being able to discharge from the raw material hopper.

This is an example of adoption by an intermediate waste processing contractor. First of all, since there was a request to try it out urgently (to be installed on the actual machine), we listened to the various conditions and decided to send (loan) the best-suited model in the necessary quantity. The results of the actual machine test were good, and later we received an order for the controller, and it is being used smoothly. 【Overview】 ■ Target material: Soil (approximately 5% moisture) ■ Hopper diameter: 1300φ ■ Discharge section: 200φ 【Key Points of Our Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign matter contamination. The silicone disk of our equipment excels in strength and durability. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is important! We provide guidance on what should be done. We also have a dedicated controller available. * For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous implementation examples. You can check them via the link below.

0385 Prevention of bridge formation in carbon micro powder

An example of using a blow disk for bridge prevention in the storage hopper located above the drum filling machine.

The fluidity of the target material does not seem to be particularly bad, but it is a case that was installed because "when the residence time is long, it tends to clog near the hopper discharge area." We often receive inquiries regarding bridging solutions for materials with very poor fluidity, so there are cases where eight standard Brody disks are installed. However, in this case, good results have been achieved with the installation of four disks. 【Overview】 ■ Hopper diameter: 1500φ ■ Hopper capacity: 2m3 ■ Target material: Carbon powder (average particle diameter 15μm) 【Key Points of This Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of foreign matter contamination risk, as strength and durability are crucial. The silicone disks of this equipment are exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is important! We provide guidance on what should be done. We also have a dedicated controller available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous implementation examples. 0393 Cement silo discharge section

A case where this Brody disk was introduced due to concerns about blockages in the discharge section of the cement silo.

This is a project that was adopted through the introduction of a consulting company specializing in environmental-related systems. Concerns were raised about potential blockages at the discharge section of a newly constructed cement silo, leading to the introduction of our Brody Disk. As there were significant concerns from the user regarding the new plant installation, we lent them a sample of our equipment. After the plant began operation, they reported that the initial concerns were completely unfounded and provided high praise for its performance. 【Overview】 ■ Silo Diameter: 2500φ ■ Discharge Section: 250φ×2 Ports 【Key Points of Our Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is crucial in terms of the risk of foreign matter contamination, so strength and durability are very important. Our silicone disk is exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is important! We provide guidance on what should be done. We also have a dedicated controller available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous case studies. Resolving the bridge of resin powder (water-added)

An example of installing a Brody disk to solve the problem of the bridge phenomenon occurring when water is added to resin powder.

This is an example we received from a manufacturer of labor-saving machinery. We were consulted because "the customer (in the chemical industry) started adding water to resin powder, and a bridging phenomenon that had not occurred before began to happen in the delivered equipment." The key point this time is that while the flowability of the resin powder before water addition is relatively good, the angle of repose increases due to the addition of water, and there is a possibility of increasing the amount of water added in the future. In this case, considering that the discharge diameter of the hopper is somewhat small at 100A and the worsening of the angle of repose due to increased water addition, we added four mini blow discs (BD-08) just above the 100A discharge section in addition to the four previously mentioned blow discs. After implementation, we followed up and there have been no troubles; it is operating smoothly. 【Overview】 ■ Product Name: Resin Powder ■ Particle Size: 10 to 1000 μm ■ Hopper Shape: Cone 1000φ ■ Discharge Diameter: 100A *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *Our website features many examples of implementations. 0397 Prevention of bridge formation of dust containing glass fibers

Prevention of dust containing glass fibers! An example of applying a blow disk to the hopper section of a dust collector.

This is a case where a blow disk was adopted for application to new equipment. The application location is the dust collector hopper section. Since the blow disk injects air along the inner surface of the hopper, it is generally the case that the effectiveness does not change significantly even if the installation position is slightly off. The key point this time is that due to the properties of the target material, the air pressure used is high, the air ON time is short, and air aeration is performed in a pulsed manner. [Overview] ■ Hopper approximate dimensions: 2000×2000 (discharge section 200×200) ■ Blow disk arrangement - 3 units per 4 sides, with 1 unit on the lower level and 2 units on the upper level per side (However, only 2 units are installed on one side due to the inspection port) - Both lower and upper levels are positioned quite low, near the discharge port * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous implementation examples. 0401 Improvement measures for existing users (calcium hydroxide)

After the implementation of the improvement measures, we have received feedback that there are no longer any rat holes at all!

This is a case inquiry from a user who has already installed a Brodisk. Although they purchased and installed the Brodisk as a measure against rat holes, they consulted us because they observed that the rat holes had not been resolved upon visual inspection of the inside of the hopper during maintenance. As a countermeasure, we advised them to increase the number of Brodisk installations, reconsider the placement, use a controller with four solenoid valves, and review the air piping (such as tube diameter conditions), which they implemented. After implementing this improvement plan, the user reported that there were no rat holes at all. [Overview of Usage Conditions] (Placement overview and control after improvement) ■ Hopper dimensions: 1500×1500 ■ Approximate dimensions of hopper discharge area: 300×300 ■ Placement overview: 2 units on one side, totaling 8 units installed ■ Control: Air is turned on sequentially in pairs with a time delay using a controller that incorporates four solenoid valves. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous implementation examples, which can be checked via the link below.

0404 Measures against rat holes in catalyst raw materials

A case where Brodisk was adopted repeatedly for the expansion of the line.

This is a repeat project that we have been hired for. This project was previously adopted a few years ago, and we received feedback from the user that "extremely good results were obtained." This time, we are being hired again for the expansion of a similar line. In this case, we were informed about the properties of the material measured with a powder tester. We would appreciate it if you could provide such data, but even if only the material sample and hopper diagram are provided, we can inform the customer about the optimal arrangement of our equipment based on that information. Please feel free to contact us. [Overview] ■ Trouble Situation - Rat hole in an 1800φ conical hopper - Discharge diameter is 200A, with a typical rat hole forming directly above the discharge section. ■ Material - Name: Confidential (catalyst raw material) - Particle size: Several micrometers - Angle of repose: Approximately 50° - Bulk density: Loose approximately 0.3 / Dense approximately 0.6 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *We have many examples published on our website. You can check them via the link below.
