Introducing a case study on the installation of a hopper for the suction transport of resin chips and resin powder!

We would like to introduce a case where the residual resin powder and resin chips in the suction hopper were eliminated. The customer was discharging and transporting materials by suctioning horizontally from the bottom of the hopper, but there was a problem where materials remained on the opposite side and sides of the suction inlet, rendering the level switch ineffective due to this residue. We installed one blow disk of type BD-15 on each of the three sides, excluding the side with the suction inlet. Using a controller C-SV1 with one built-in solenoid valve, we simultaneously aerated all three disks. Hitting with a stick and the hopper becoming uneven or the welds cracking due to impact have also been eliminated!

At a synthetic resin manufacturer, they are measuring powder using an air transport hopper, which also serves as a dust collector hopper. They experienced discharge issues with this hopper, and neither a knocker nor a vibrator was effective. Additionally, a wire mesh filter installed just above the discharge outlet was severely clogged, causing them trouble, which led them to consult us. They adopted the Brodydisk (installed in the regular hopper section) and the Brodydisk Mini (installed just above the discharge outlet), which resolved their issues. This user mentioned that, in addition to the current powder, they sometimes handle "very poorly flowing and highly adhesive troublesome fine powders," so they installed more Brodydisks than usual compared to typical cases. This is a case in which we received an inquiry to resolve the bridging occurring in the hopper section of a dust collector. The customer sent us the equipment drawings and a sample of the material, so we started by providing a layout proposal for the blow disk based on that. We informed them that there were no significant risks observed with the powder sample we reviewed. The person in charge contacted us expressing a desire to see the actual blow disk, so we set it up on a plate that simulated the hopper wall and sent it to them. The customer connected air to it and observed the air injection and vibration of the blow disk, concluding that "this should work." They decided to proceed with the installation. We received contact from a customer who has experience using our Broa Disk. They experienced a bridge in the hopper for fine flour, so they installed two of their available Mini Broa Disks. While there was some effect, it did not completely resolve the issue, and they inquired about the possibility of adding a few more units. They requested a loan of the additional units. It was noted that two units were already installed near the discharge area (which is an ideal position), and based on the situation during testing, we determined that it would be best to install four units directly above the existing ones and sent the necessary quantity. Installed two standard Brodisks and two Brodisk Minis! A case where the clogging was resolved.

We would like to introduce a case where we addressed a blockage at the bottom of an air transport hopper in a cosmetics raw material factory. The flowability of the raw material was not significantly poor, but the small diameter of the hopper discharge section, φ50, seemed to be the main cause of the blockage. To resolve this, we installed two standard blow discs slightly below the center of the hopper and two mini blow discs near the discharge section. As a measure against titanium dioxide bridging, it has been installed in the hopper of the air transport device. According to user experience, there are no particular issues with the bottom of the hopper, which is equipped with a sintered metal mesh strainer. However, to prevent bridging in the hopper above, a blow disk has been adopted.
