Factors contributing to scrap accumulation include adhesion due to vacuum, adhesion to the punch, and lifting caused by compressed air in the die. To dramatically reduce scrap accumulation, it is possible to process the cutting edge of the punch, add air holes to the punch, and attach ejector pins.
