We introduce a design case of Frontier Technology: "A/D Converter Circuit." The sample and hold circuit charges the analog input voltage to a capacitor at a constant interval and performs a successive comparison based on charge redistribution (comparing with the output voltage from the D/A converter). The comparison results are output as digital codes. Our company was established as a manufacturer of the electronic circuits that are the heart of leakage circuit breakers. In the millions to tens of millions of units, even a single defect is unacceptable. With the commitment to "create products that will operate reliably even after 50 years," we have focused on manual work since our founding. With this commitment in mind, we have adopted the philosophy of "better manufacturing." This time, I would like to introduce a case of a company that was looking for a manufacturer with production capacity after placing an order larger than usual with a company they had requested. [Challenge] They were regularly ordering 50 units per month from another company, but when they placed an order for 100 units in a single month, they were unable to accommodate it and were looking for a company with manufacturing capacity. [Proposal] Since they were seeking a complete copy with CE (Copy Exactly), I proposed that we conduct multiple prototypes to receive their evaluation. [Resolution] There were no issues with quality, and we received positive feedback on the third prototype. They were also very pleased that the mark printing on the wires was faithfully reproduced with CE in mind. They expressed their admiration for our ability to deliver on time, regardless of when or how much they ordered.

A VCO module with high linearity can be realized using commercially available VCOs!

This technology achieves VCO gain nonlinear correction by using the ultra-wideband F/V conversion IC "PH1013FMQFM" to maintain a constant input-output ratio (VCO gain: Volt/Hz) between the control voltage and output frequency of the VCO. Correction is possible regardless of the circuit configuration of the VCO, enabling the realization of a VCO module with high linearity using commercially available VCOs.
