Free technical materials available! Introducing representative functions such as conductivity, waterproofing, shock resistance, light shielding, and thermal conductivity!
Functional adhesive tapes used in smartphones and tablet PCs not only secure components but also possess various special functions. It is not an exaggeration to say that without functional adhesive tapes, it would be impossible to produce digital devices due to features such as conductivity, waterproofing, shock resistance, light shielding, and thermal conductivity.
The adhesive used in Dexerials' functional adhesive tapes is primarily made from acrylic materials. While there are also rubber-based and silicone-based adhesives, acrylic adhesives offer excellent advantages such as "superior heat resistance and weather resistance," "a wide range of substrates," and "relatively low cost."
There are two production methods for acrylic-based adhesives: one using organic solvents and the other curing with ultraviolet (UV) light.
In the method using organic solvents, it is difficult to achieve a thicker adhesive layer because the solvent must be dried and evaporated, which reduces the volume. However, the UV method does not require drying, allowing for a significantly thicker adhesive layer of about 2mm.
