0575 Alloy powder + resin powder bridge elimination

Only when it gets clogged, manually turn on the air! An example of its use as a bridge countermeasure.

We would like to introduce a case where measures against bridging in the powder material hopper of a press machine are being utilized. There was a concern that the press material (alloy powder + resin powder) could bridge and not fall even when hammering. To address this, we installed one standard Brody disk (BD-15S-B) on the central face of the three inclined surfaces. The user initially consulted us about wanting to try the installation, so after discussing the installation location, we lent them the equipment. The results were favorable, and they have adopted it. [Case Overview] ■ Hopper Overview - Size: 400×400 - Shape: 3 inclined surfaces (1 vertical) - Discharge section: Φ100 flexible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

0717 Delivery of Brodisk (Brodisk Mini) for the food industry.

The metal detection compatible Brody Disk (mini), widely used in the food industry, has been adopted in the cosmetics industry!

We would like to introduce a case where a model with metal powder mixed into the elastic disk (the air discharge part of the blow disk) was used, so that if the elastic disk were to accidentally break and mix into the powder, it could be detected by metal detectors or X-ray inspection machines. While it is mostly used in the food industry, this time it was adopted by a customer in the cosmetics sector. Since the discharge diameter is quite small, it is very important to implement blockage measures just above this point. We installed two Blow Disk Minis at this location and two more Blow Disk Minis 50mm above this point. A total of four Blow Disk Minis are controlled simultaneously using the C-SV1 controller, which has four solenoid valves, to turn the air ON and OFF. 【Case Overview】 ■ Hopper Diameter: Ø350 ■ Discharge Section: 2S ■ Target Material: Cosmetic raw materials (very fine / particle size undisclosed, name undisclosed) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

0722 Measures to prevent clogging of powder with high moisture content

The purpose is to solve the clogging and blockage of powder through air aeration on the inner wall of the hopper and the vibration of elastic disks (rubber disks).

We would like to introduce a case where a chemical manufacturer adopted the "Brodisk." They had installed knockers as a countermeasure for bridging, but it was not very effective, and they were dealing with the issue through manual hammering. After years of hammering, the hopper became uneven, and they decided to update this part and introduced our product. The results have been good, and it is operating smoothly. 【Case Overview】 ■ Hopper Diameter: Ø600 ■ Discharge Diameter: Ø150 ■ Four Brodisks were installed at a position 250mm from the discharge section ■ Control is set to simultaneously turn the air ON/OFF for the four Brodisks *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

0531 Prevention of adhesion of urethane pellets

To prevent adhesion, it is effective to spray air at high pressure! Here are examples of the installation of blow discs.

We received a new inquiry from a rubber product manufacturer who adopted our equipment a long time ago. In the previous project, they used the Brodie Disk Mini to prevent fine powder bridging, and it was well received. Although quite some time has passed since then, it seems they have been using the elastic disks (silicone disks) stably without any degradation or damage. This time, they consulted us because the material tends to stick to the inner surface of the hopper, and they wanted to find a solution. The effectiveness of our equipment depends on the degree of sticking (adhesion), so we first installed one Brodie Disk (standard type) on just one surface, which yielded very good results. Based on the test results, it was decided to install them on each surface. 【Overview】 ■ Material: Urethane pellets ■ Hopper dimensions: 450×450 ■ Discharge section dimensions: 100×100 ■ Transport: Blower ■ Control: To prevent adhesion, it is effective to inject air at high pressure, so the operating air pressure is set higher, and four Brodie Disks are activated one by one with a time delay. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Elimination of residue in the hopper of LDPE crushed material.

Cost-focused control! Introducing a case that eliminated rat-hole residuals.

After installing a magnet bar to remove metal foreign objects, material began to remain in a rat hole shape at the upper part. We received an inquiry about wanting to address this with a blow disk. We installed four blow disks (standard type BD-15) at the same height on the upper half of the conical section, which resolved the rat hole-shaped residue that was occurring from the conical section to the cylindrical section. There is also the option of turning on the blow disks one by one with a time delay, but since this case is not highly complex, we are focusing on cost-effective control. 【Case Overview】 ■ Residue Situation - Rat holes occurred from the upper half of the conical section of the magnet bar installed in the lower half of the conical section of an Φ800 hopper to the cylindrical section. - The target material is low-density polyethylene granulate. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Preventing Bridging of High Moisture Content Granules

Prevent bridging of granules with high moisture content! Introducing case studies from powder handling professionals!

The high moisture content of the granulated material caused bridging at the hopper outlet, but the installation of the Brody Disk and Brody Disk Mini resolved the issue. Initially, you were using an overseas vibrator (air ball type), which was effective but occasionally caused bridging, leading you to contact us. 【Overview】 (Usage Conditions) ○ About the Hopper → Top: 800φ, Outlet: 80φ, Angle of repose: approximately 60° ○ Raw Material → Particle size: approximately 5φ, Moisture content: over 20% ○ Installation Position and Model → The risk of blockage is highest just above the outlet, so two Brody Disk Minis were installed in this location (75mm above the hopper wall from the outlet). → Due to the hopper's radius in this location, a Brody Disk cannot be installed; only Brody Disk Minis can be used. → It is preferable to install close to the outlet, so Brody Disk Minis were chosen. → Two Brody Disks were installed approximately 150mm above the Brody Disk Minis along the hopper wall. *For more details, please contact us or download the catalog to view.

We received a consultation regarding the material inside the supply hopper of the extruder, which was forming a rat hole shape. While the installation of a vibrator was considered, based on the customer's experience, it was determined that it would "tighten even more," leading to the decision to install our equipment. As a result, by installing a total of four Brody Disk Minis at different heights (two each), the rat hole phenomenon was resolved immediately. [Overview] ■ Target material: Acrylic resin powder (angle of repose: approximately 40 degrees) ■ Hopper diameter: 300 mm * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous case studies. 0395 For nitrogen purging to prevent oxidation of granular fuel

A case where a blow disc was installed at the bottom of a cylindrical tank.

This is an example of adoption that differs from the purpose of eliminating bridges and rat holes. The contents consist of fuel particles approximately a few millimeters in size, and it is necessary to perform nitrogen gas purging to prevent heat generation due to oxidation. Therefore, we decided to adopt a blow disk with the expectation that the gas would be evenly distributed within the tank. Although there was a basic preference for continuous gas purging, maintaining a constant gas flow would result in a significant consumption of gas. On the other hand, reducing the purging pressure was considered detrimental to gas diffusion, so we recommended intermittent operation with four blow disks. It has been operating smoothly without any particular troubles. 【Overview】 ■ Tank diameter: 2500φ ■ Number of blow disks installed: 12 * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous implementation examples, which can be checked via the link below.

0441 Assigned to the feed plant

Suppressing bridge phenomena and clogging! We can also provide test footage conducted on very poorly flowing fine powders.

We would like to introduce an example implemented at our feed plant. In the case of our user, the BroaDisk has already been adopted by a related company, and it was installed in the feed plant through that introduction. The BroaDisk suppresses the bridging phenomenon and clogging of powder and granules through air injection along the silo inner wall and the vibration of the silicone rubber disk. If you have any troubles related to bridging, please feel free to contact us. 【Overview (Excerpt)】 ■ Silo Outline Dimensions ・Diameter: 2800Φ ・Bottom: 800Φ ■ Discharge Method: Screw Feeder ■ Target Material: Powdered raw materials before pelletizing * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous examples of implementations. You can check them through the link below.

Elimination of supply fluctuations due to the bridge.

We will introduce examples of how you used it to eliminate the instability of screw cutting amounts!

This is a case study adopted by a foundry manufacturer. It was used to resolve the instability of the screw extraction amount from the hopper caused by the formation and collapse of bridges within the hopper. Three blow disks were installed on two surfaces along the screw, 250mm above the discharge section. A controller, C-SV4, equipped with four solenoid valves, is being used. 【Case Overview】 ■ Target Material: Bentonite, etc. (mixed powder) ■ Hopper Dimensions: Approximately 1000×1300 ■ Discharge Section: Approximately 150×1300 ■ Discharge Device: Screw Feeder 【Key Points of This Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign matter contamination. The silicone disk of this equipment has excellent strength and durability. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. A dedicated controller is also available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

0472 Eliminate emission defects using a level gauge.

To prevent poor powder flow! We will assist you in selecting the appropriate model and layout plan based on your usage conditions.

We would like to introduce a case where a user contacted us to solve the issue of poor powder discharge by installing a paddle-type level gauge and a capacitive level gauge in a small hopper. A capacitive level sensor is installed at approximately one-third of the height from the bottom of the hopper. We recommended and implemented the installation of two Brodie disks mini near the discharge area, avoiding the sensor, and two Brodie disks above that. Afterward, we received feedback that "the bridging has been resolved and everything is running smoothly." 【Overview of Conditions】 ■ Hopper Diameter: Ø500 ■ Discharge Diameter: 100A ■ Material: Calcium Carbonate 【Key Points of Our Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign material contamination. The silicone disk of our equipment is exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. We also have a dedicated controller available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

To stabilize the discharge of fluorite.

We have introduced a Brody disk to stabilize the discharge of fluorite!

This is a powder with high fluidity, but due to unstable continuous discharge, we would like to introduce a case where it was used. After providing guidance on the selection and arrangement of the Brody disk model, we received a request to loan this equipment. The test results were deemed favorable, leading to its introduction. 【Case Overview】 ■ Target Material - Name: Fluorspar - Specific Gravity: Approximately 1.2 - Particle Size: Approximately 30μm (average) ■ Hopper - Diameter: Ø800 - Discharge: 200A 【Key Points of This Equipment】 ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign material contamination. The silicone disk of this equipment is exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. A dedicated controller is also available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
