The increase in the number of cases has brought attention to "tree nut food allergies." In the food allergen labeling system, it is planned that by the fiscal year 2025, the labeling of cashew nuts will become mandatory, and the labeling of pistachios will be recommended. Additionally, in many countries and regions abroad, tree nuts are often included in the list of food allergens that must be labeled, which may require compliance when exporting food products. In light of this background, our company has created a collection of basic knowledge for those involved in food quality management and assurance. This knowledge collection covers not only the basic information regarding tree nut food allergen labeling but also introduces ELISA method kits, including those from overseas, presents analysis results of food reactivity, and provides information on test items and methods that can be contracted, all of which will be useful when creating testing plans. 【Table of Contents】 - The environment surrounding tree nut food allergies - Food allergen labeling system and testing methods - How to choose tree nut food allergen tests - Summary of tree nut food allergen testing methods

Exposure to food allergens through the skin has been reported to trigger food allergy reactions to those foods later on. One of the causes of food allergy onset due to this transdermal sensitization is cosmetics. However, the method widely used for testing food allergens, as notified by the Consumer Affairs Agency, is designed with the premise of targeting food products. Therefore, when testing samples other than food, such as cosmetics, there is a concern that the influence of inhibitory substances not anticipated in food could arise, potentially hindering accurate assessment of the results. In response, our company has accumulated verification data for food allergy (allergen) testing using cosmetics as samples and has established a system to propose testing. 【Technical Documentation Available for Free!】Regarding the application of food allergen testing methods to cosmetic samples To verify whether the food allergen testing method of the Consumer Affairs Agency can also be applied to cosmetic samples, we conducted additive recovery tests. We are currently offering a summary of the results in a technical document for free. ★If you would like the document, please download it from the link below or contact us.

Free membership registrationFor food manufacturers engaged in inbound demand and overseas expansion, it is essential to develop foods that cater to various cultures and religions. To provide assurance regarding this "diversity of food," our company offers testing services for plant-based foods and halal foods to confirm and certify their compliance. Point 1: Providing assurance to consumers through certification of the absence of animal-derived and pork-derived ingredients. We conduct confirmation and certification of plant-based and halal foods using a comprehensive approach that includes PCR methods, ELISA methods, and Western blotting, which are designated testing methods for food allergens. Point 2: Detection of pork-derived ingredients that cannot be identified by DNA through our proprietary technology. Generally, PCR methods (which detect DNA) are used to confirm and certify that pork-derived ingredients are not used in halal foods. However, this method is insufficient for detecting highly processed ingredients like gelatin. Our company has developed a testing technology that can specifically detect pork-derived collagen/gelatin, allowing us to identify pork gelatin that could not be detected previously.

Free membership registrationThe export value of agricultural, forestry, fishery products, and food has been increasing year by year, surpassing 1 trillion yen for the first time in 2021. On the other hand, there are concerns about the shrinking domestic market in Japan due to population decline in the future. Against this backdrop, some companies dealing with food are already taking steps to focus on overseas markets, strengthening research and development of products for export, or considering how to add value to existing products for export. However, a barrier to overseas exports is compliance with local labeling regulations. Therefore, our company offers testing services not only for allergens that are subject to labeling in Japan but also for those that are required overseas.

Gelatin is classified as "substitutes for specific ingredients" in food allergen labeling. However, due to its high processing level and the difficulty of DNA detection, a testing method for food allergens had not been established. Therefore, our company focused on pigs, which are representative animals from which gelatin is derived, and developed a technology to specifically detect collagen/gelatin derived from pigs, initiating contract testing for food allergens targeting gelatin (derived from pigs). 【Features of the Test】 ◆ Achieves practical detection sensitivity for food allergen testing! For water (such as wash water or wiping solution), a detection limit of 10 ppm* has been achieved. This matches the detection sensitivity of existing Western blot methods targeting milk and eggs. * For products, the detection limit is 50 ppm. ◆ A rare food allergen test for gelatin in Japan Due to the lack of an established testing method, there are limited testing institutions that can conduct food allergen tests for gelatin. As a result, our company can now conduct tests for "27 items" out of the total 28 items classified as specific ingredients and their substitutes. *For more details, please request a catalog or view the PDF data available for download.

Our company offers insect DNA identification testing, which matches the DNA of samples with a database to report the species of insects. 【Features of the Test】 ◆ Overwhelming Number of Species Covered The reference insect DNA database currently contains over 67,000 registered species. Therefore, for major insects, identification is possible by comparing with the registered DNA. Even if a species is not registered, identification at the order or family level is still possible. ◆ High Identification Probability to Solve Customer Issues The identification probability from insects is relatively high at 70% to 80%, and the fresher the sample, the higher the likelihood of successful identification. ◆ Reliable Test Results We report identification results after screening for any inconsistencies in the DNA information. Since some public databases may contain incorrect DNA information, directly listing the five species with the highest match rate can sometimes lead to contradictory results. *For more details, please request a catalog or view the PDF data available for download.

Free membership registrationThis is a set of reagents for determining whether stains resembling blood on packages or products are actually blood. It employs the "Leucomalachite Green method," which is used by forensic laboratories for visible stains. This method has fewer false positives than the luminol reaction and is a reliable method used in forensic applications. Regarding the luminol reaction: Trusted testing institutions, including forensic laboratories, do not confirm the luminol reaction for visible blood stains. This is because the "luminol reaction" is intended to infer the location of blood stains that have become invisible due to cleaning or other treatments. Performing a luminol reaction on stains or marks that are already suspected to be blood can hinder formal forensic testing and increase the risk of not achieving accurate results. ◆ If determined to be blood... We also accept the following tests by contract: - Is it of human origin? → Human blood identification test - What animal (including humans) is it from? → DNA identification test - In the case of humans, what is the gender? What is the blood type? → Gender DNA typing, ABO blood type DNA test
