The Miltenyi Biotec MACSQuant Tyto is a cell sorter that separates cells using a disposable, sterilized closed-system cartridge. It is equipped with three lasers and can detect eight colors. Sorting is performed exclusively within a cartridge featuring a groundbreaking microchip, ensuring no sample carryover and no aerosol generation. Unlike droplet-based sorters, it operates at low pressure and is non-charged, allowing for cell-friendly sorting. This system is a new tabletop washer that uses a horizontal dehydration method (centrifugal dehydration) to perform wash operations on small volume wells such as 384-well and 1536-well plates, particularly addressing the difficulty of liquid aspiration and discharge. In addition to the wash function, it is also possible to degas samples within the plates. It comes with a stacker that can hold 40 microplates, allowing for the selection of two types of wash solutions and switching between various washer modes. The plate centrifugal dehydration can be performed using a horizontal rotation method (patent pending), and the dehydration state can be set to any desired rotation speed, thereby resolving issues related to residual liquid and drying.

In substrate exchange and subculturing operations, flexible procedures suitable for the characteristics of the cells are realized by robots. Additionally, it has a compound addition function that meets the needs of research and development environments.
