Power inductors often use ferrite cores, which are affected by magnetic saturation. Even before reaching the magnetic saturation current specified in the inductor's datasheet, the inductance begins to decrease, and the RF characteristics of the component deteriorate. The impact of DC current is often underestimated when constructing EMC filters, leading to filters not functioning as planned. A high-current bias tee is necessary to evaluate the frequency response of EMC filters under load conditions. High-current bias tees can be used for a wide range of additional applications.
