It is designed to be driven by the output of a spectrum analyzer's tracking generator. The precision sleeve dipole is a non-directional antenna with a low VSWR and an electrical dipole pattern similar to a half-wavelength resonant dipole. Thanks to the sleeve dipole design, which eliminates the interaction between the cable and the feed point that can degrade antenna performance and reduce cable interaction, it can be end-fed. The sleeve dipole antenna features a nominal impedance of 50 ohms, a maximum continuous transmission power of 1 watt, and an SMA female connector (with an optional N female connector). The logarithmic periodic antenna, known as LPDA, is a broadband directional antenna that provides a combination of gain and directivity over a wide range of frequencies. Both the logarithmic periodic antenna and the Yagi antenna are high-gain directional antennas. The main difference between these antennas is that the logarithmic periodic antenna supports a wider frequency bandwidth and is physically much larger than the Yagi antenna. The typical VSWR of a logarithmic periodic dipole array is 2:1, operating over a wider bandwidth and having lower gain for an equivalent number of elements. While the logarithmic periodic antenna is much larger than a Yagi antenna with equivalent gain, this level of performance makes it ideal for many applications.
