Free membership registration【Customer Requests/Challenges】 - An automatic transport system that crosses over the worker passage is needed because the worker passage intersects in the middle of the production line. - We want to stop manual transport using carts and rolling transport through free fall. We want to reduce setup changes. → The cycle time is very fast, making it impossible to achieve with automatic single-piece transport. In a 3D conveyor, issues such as workpieces falling over occur, and managing production is difficult due to a large flow of work-in-progress that exceeds the line of sight. 【Proposal】 We propose a batch transport method where a chuck unit clamps multiple stacked bearing workpieces together. We will create an integrated transport system that includes one FCS unit assembled in a gantry configuration, along with loading equipment on the upstream side and unloading equipment on the downstream side, to be adopted as a high-level bearing high-speed transport device. 【Results After FCS Implementation】 The effort and time required to design and manufacture a complex three-dimensional transport device in-house were eliminated, significantly reducing the implementation costs. Unlike the 3D conveyor, the issue of work-in-progress remaining overhead was resolved, improving production management.
