The RAR-MPCIE is very small (30mm x 40.95mm x 4.7mm) and is ideal for applications deployed in highly constrained environments that require a minimal SWaP solution. It is designed for users working with simulations for avionics testing and field and test support, providing significant advantages and flexibility when used for data logging. With its Mini PCI Express interface and small size and weight, the RAR-MPCIE is perfect for portable devices or installation in small form factor motherboard systems, offering the appropriate combination and I/O for each application. Despite its compact size, the RAR-MPCIE features eight receive channels and four transmit channels. It includes one receive and one transmit ARINC 717 channel and can be configured to support avionics-level voltages through four input/output bidirectional discretes.

The Abaco Systems RAR-USB is an intelligent high-density USB 2.0 interface that provides a total of up to 16 fully independent receive channels, a total of up to 5 fully independent transmit channels, and 8 bidirectional avionics-level discretes. Features include programmable transmit/receive rates, parity, error detection, time tagging, and adjustable slew rates. The HI-8597 is a 3.3V single-supply ARINC 429 line driver equipped with internal lightning protection circuitry. The internal lightning protection circuitry allows compliance with RTCA/DO-160G, Section 22 Level 3. The internal 37.5Ω resistance for each output enables direct connection to the ARINC 429 bus. Additionally, this device includes a dual-polarity voltage doubler, allowing it to operate with just four external capacitors using a single +3.3V power supply. Other features include a high-impedance output (tri-state) when both data inputs are high, enabling multiple line drivers to be connected to a common bus. The bus pin has built-in 8kV ESD input protection (HBM), while all other pins are equipped with 6kV functionality. All logic inputs are compatible with 5V or 3.3V. The HI-8597 line driver is intended for use when there is a need to convert logic signals to ARINC 429 levels, such as when using FPGAs or the HI-3586 ARINC 429 protocol IC.

The HI-8460 and HI-8461 are insulated single ARINC 429 line receivers equipped with internal lightning protection circuits. This device provides 800V isolation between the line receiver and the logic interface. It is an ideal device for protecting the host interface or for systems that require different grounds. While the power supply and ground are isolated between the line receiver and the logic interface, the IC only requires one 3.3V power supply and ground, making the HI-8460 pins compatible with Holt's existing line receivers, HI-8450, HI-8591, and HI-8588. Therefore, this device offers a cost-effective solution for adding galvanic isolation to existing designs.

The HI-35930 from Holt is a CMOS integrated circuit designed to connect SPI-compatible microcontrollers to the ARINC 429 serial bus. This device features two receivers, each with user-programmable label recognition for any combination of 256 possible labels, a 32×32 receive FIFO, three priority label quick access double buffer registers, and an analog line receiver. Both line receivers meet the lightning protection requirements of RTCA/DO-160G, Section 22, Level 3. The independent transmitter includes a 32×32 transmit FIFO and an integrated line driver. The line driver operates on a single 3.3V power supply and includes an on-chip DC/DC converter that generates the bipolar ARINC 429 differential voltage levels necessary to directly drive the ARINC 429 bus. The status of the transmit and receive FIFOs and the priority label buffer can be monitored using a programmable external interrupt pin or by polling the status register.

The Holt HI-3582A/HI-3583A is a CMOS device designed to directly interface a 16-bit parallel data bus with an ARINC 429 serial bus. Compared to the previous HI-3582/HI-3583 products, the HI-3582A/HI-3583A offers a high-speed host CPU interface. This device provides two receivers with label recognition, a 32×32 FIFO, and an analog line receiver. Up to 16 labels can be programmed for each receiver. The independent transmitter includes a 32×32 FIFO and a built-in line driver. The status of all three FIFOs can be monitored using external status pins or by polling the HI-3582A/HI-3583A status register. Other features include a programmable option for the 32nd bit to be either data or parity, and the ability to unscramble 32-bit words.

Holt's ARINC 825 (CAN) controllers come in four types. ■HI-3110 This is a standalone CAN controller with a built-in transceiver. This device provides a cost-effective solution for avionics applications compliant with the CAN 2.0B specification and can be configured to comply with both ARINC 825 and CANaerospace standards. The HI-3110 can transmit and receive standard data frames, extended data frames, and remote frames. The internal transceiver allows for direct connection to the host bus without the need for external components, minimizing board space when combined with the host's SPI. ■HI-3111 This is the digital-only version of the HI-3110. An external transceiver is required separately. ■HI-3112 This model offers an option for a CLKOUT pin instead of a SPLIT pin, which can be used as the main system clock or as a clock input for other devices in the system. ■HI-3113 This provides all options (both CLKOUT and SPLIT pins) in a very compact QFN-44 package.
