FireCore integrates the PHY and link layer requirements necessary for common 1394 devices into a single IP core. Based on the FireGate PHY IP core and FireLink LLC IP core, FireCore is designed to support data rates from S100 to S3200 and various host interfaces such as generic, OHCI, and OHCI (with AS5643 option). DapTechnology's new FireCore package offers unprecedented technical capabilities, features, flexibility, and options for customization and future expansion. Together with FireStack (DapTechnology's 1394 software stack), FireCore is designed to fully leverage the capabilities of the AS5643 extension. It aims to completely abstract the 1394 protocol layer and the AS5643 protocol layer, allowing implementers to focus entirely on system-level functionalities such as fault tolerance, fault isolation, and redundancy.

FireLink, a synthesizable IEEE-1394-2008 beta link layer controller (LLC) core, is based on the link layer controller that has been used in DapTechnology's FireSpy analyzer products for several years. FireLink is a mature core implemented on FPGAs from Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi. Advantages of implementing a complete 1394 I/O interface using FPGA Standalone solution: By combining PHY IP with link layer IP, it is possible to create smaller products. Additional components can be added to create a system-on-chip (SoC) solution. Flexible number of ports: Commercially available PHY chips have a fixed number of ports, which is often excessive for small peripherals. On the other hand, host adapters are likely to benefit from three or more ports, and hubs can have even more ports. In the case of PHY based on FPGA technology, users can customize the number of ports as needed. Optional debugging and testing features: Optionally, debugging and testing features such as BERT (Bit Error Rate Testing) can be included. Field upgradable: The FPGA used is field-upgradable, allowing new features and bug fixes to be added even when the device is already in the field. Cost-effective ASICs: Once the design is complete, the IP solution provides a very cost-effective way to spin custom ASICs.

MIL1394, like the commercial IEEE1394 FireWire, has limitations on the length of the connection cable. Therefore, to extend a 1394 connection, it is necessary to use thicker wires or add signal repeaters. DapTechnology has developed a wide variety of repeater models, offering about 25 different configurations, including simple pass-through, multi-pass-through, fiber optic conversion, and EMI-enhanced solutions. The Triple Series USB/Ethernet host-type FireSpy3810 and FireSpy3410bT incorporate three FireSpy bus analyzers in one compact package. Designed to meet the requirements of the AS5643-based triple-redundant bus architecture, the FireSpy3x10(bT) allows a single FireSpy to connect to three synchronized analysis engines while connecting to three IEEE-1394 buses. Based on the Gen2 hardware platform, the FireSpy3x10(bT) features 1GB of internal memory and a powerful processor, providing the necessary resources for all three buses. The FireSpy3422bT/3822bT is based on the fourth generation of FireSpy analyzer architecture and is the most advanced 1394 test device. With seamless integration of the SAE AS5643 protocol, the FireSpy3422bT/3822bT has become a suitable tool for many aerospace and defense development tasks. DapTechnology continuously updates the analyzer's capabilities in accordance with implementation requirements and ongoing standardization efforts to fully support the AS5643 protocol across all major functional areas of the FireSpy3x22bT. The FireSpy3422bT/3822bT is equipped with 5GB of internal memory and can be connected to a host computer using a PCIe interface. On the host, the FireSpy can be controlled using a graphical user interface, allowing for the analysis and display of bus traffic in a user-friendly manner.

The FireSpy810, FireSpy410b, and FireSpy410bT bus analyzers are second-generation IEEE-1394 analyzers from Dap Technology. The FireSpyx10(bT) is a small and compact device equipped with 1024MB of internal memory, providing extensive hardware filtering and triggering through an efficient FPGA and onboard processor. They support transfer speeds of up to 800Mb and are fully compliant with IEEE-1394b. Two bilingual 1394b ports facilitate connection to the system under test. The FireSpyx10(bT) can be connected to a host computer via a USB2.0 interface, and the Ethernet port allows for easy network integration and remote control. The GUI operates on Windows OS, is intuitive to use, and makes data display and user control straightforward. Additionally, the included API enables the development of custom control software and interfaces using C/C++ or LabVIEW.

The FireDiagnostics Suite is software used in conjunction with Dap Technology's FireSpy. This software integrates 1394 analysis, simulation, and interface tools for a wide range of applications. In addition to hardware-assisted analyzer tools such as monitors, recorders, generators, commanders, scriptwriters, and Mil1394 signal monitors, this suite also provides a set of software tools designed to integrate FireSpy products into various test applications. The FireDiagnostics Suite is created through an application programming interface (API), and applications for the FireSpy analyzer equipped with interfaces for development environments such as C/C++ and LabVIEW TM on Microsoft Windows OS are highly flexible. By using the API library, you can control all hardware-assisted analyzer tools such as recorders and generators, as well as lower-level 1394 bus functions.

DapTechnology's FireStealth810bN is the world's first "stealth mode" IEEE-1394b analyzer equipped with non-intrusive bus monitoring technology. The FireStealth IEEE-1394b analyzer does not participate in the bus topology, so topology reconfiguration and node ID reassignment do not occur. It becomes invisible to all other devices on the bus and does not participate in bus management activities such as root contention, cycle start generation, and transmission arbitration. FireStealth is a compact device equipped with 1024MB of internal memory. This device provides extensive hardware filtering and triggering through efficient FPGA and onboard processors. It supports transfer rates of up to 800MB. FireStealth connects to a host PC via USB2.0 or Ethernet. The GUI software operates on Windows and is intuitively operable. Additionally, the included API allows for the development of custom control software using C/C++ or LabVIEW.

In particular, advanced error insertion capabilities, which cannot be achieved with commercial link layer implementations, are required for simulation purposes. FireTrac is designed to natively support AS5643 (not just as an add-on protocol). In addition to standard IEEE1394 functionality, FireTrac is designed to provide hardware-level support for SAE AS5643, particularly alleviating the burden on the host processor for tasks such as packet encapsulation, data extraction, and receive/transmit STOF offsets. Importantly, FireTrac is highly accurate as it fully processes AS5643 transmission timing in hardware.
