To fully realize the true value of beryllium copper, aging heat treatment is necessary. The products purchased from us will undergo heat treatment.

Beryllium copper is an alloy that adds a small amount of beryllium to copper. It has the highest strength among copper alloys, possesses high springiness, and features non-magnetic properties, spark-free operation, and high corrosion resistance. Furthermore, it has properties suitable for metal processing, molding, and machining, and is widely used in mechanical parts, electrical and electronic component contacts and switches, electrodes requiring strength and conductivity, heat-resistant wires, brushes, sockets, and probe pins. Beryllium copper undergoes precipitation hardening, where beryllium precipitates within the structure, resulting in tensile strength and hardness values that are among the highest for copper alloys (up to 1500 N/mm² for C1720). This process is known as aging treatment (heat treatment); however, after aging treatment, there can be cases where bending processing leads to cracking or where machining resistance is high, making it difficult to process effectively. Since its machinability is not as good compared to brass, it is often the case that the material is partially processed before heat treatment for finishing, or that aging treatment is performed after machining. There are recommended settings for heat treatment that are somewhat fixed. Our company collaborates with businesses that have heat treatment furnaces to provide aging treatment for materials purchased from us, such as those from NGK (Nippon Gas Co., Ltd.).
