Currently, the measurement of ALP (alkaline phosphatase) and LD (lactate dehydrogenase) is widely adopted using the JSCC standardization method proposed by the Japanese Society of Clinical Chemistry (JSCC), but it is known that the specificity for isoenzymes differs. To address this issue, the JSCC has decided to change to a measurement method that is identical to the standard measurement operation method of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), making it easier to utilize overseas guidelines and to accommodate international collaborative clinical trials. With this change, ALP and LD, which have been measured based on Japan's unique standards, will now comply with international standard methods, allowing routine test results to be used directly in international clinical trials and paper presentations.
