Mold Standard Parts Coating

Introducing the features of each process for coating standard mold components!

In "Standard Parts Coating for Molds," we introduce the characteristics and overview of coatings. The CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process fills a high-temperature atmosphere of 1000°C with gas and induces a chemical reaction, allowing for uniform coating around the entire item, making it applicable to complex shapes. The PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process uses plasma energy to coat at a lower temperature of 200 to 500°C, which essentially prevents dimensional changes and deformation, making it suitable for items requiring high precision. 【Features (CVD Method)】 - Since deposition occurs through a chemical reaction with gas, there is less variation in film thickness and coverage due to shape. - The film thickness is more than twice that of PVD, and the adhesion strength is high, making it suitable for heavy press processing. - The equipment is also large, allowing for the processing of large items, and the cost is lower compared to PVD. *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.*

DLC coating for semiconductor forming molds

It is a DLC coating using a hybrid process of PVD and plasma CVD.

The semiconductor forming die's Celtes DLC coating is a new DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating produced by a hybrid process of PVD and plasma CVD. By adopting a composite multilayer film, it demonstrates superior adhesion compared to conventional DLC and allows for thick films (up to 5μm), resulting in exceptional durability. Additionally, it can withstand high surface pressures due to the use of a substrate reinforcement layer, not only on cemented carbide but also on tool steel. The DLC coating has a very smooth and hard surface with a low friction coefficient, preventing adhesion of soft metals such as solder plating and aluminum. This significantly reduces defects caused by solder debris adhering to the mold and dramatically improves productivity by decreasing cleaning frequency. For more details, please download the catalog.

Acid resistance and burn prevention... Screw head titanium coating

When it was new, there was no adhesion, but recently... it's a great solution for the molding machine parts that are causing you trouble.

If the countless fine scratches created during maintenance are left unattended, a film of raw material will form on the surface of the components. If left unchecked, the film will grow, narrowing the flow area and affecting the measurement time. This surface treatment promises to maintain a surface that is much harder than hard chrome plating and to keep it in like-new condition for an extended period.

Dry lubricating film DLC/NEO-C coating

Using the plasma CVD method, we can coat complex-shaped products and inner diameters with DLC-Si films that have excellent adhesion.

The "Plasma CVD NEO-C Coating" utilizes low fence plasma obtained in a vacuum to coat various products with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) films that have excellent tribological properties and high adhesion. The treated products achieve a high-performance surface with a high hardness of around 2000Hv and excellent smoothness with a low friction coefficient. Additionally, the previously weak adhesion of DLC has been significantly improved, making it easier to process complex shapes, uneven surfaces of molds, and inner diameters of mechanical parts. It is effective in preventing adhesion of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper, significantly improving the maintainability of non-ferrous metal press molds and sliding mechanical parts, while also enhancing durability. Furthermore, due to the reduction in friction resistance and improvement in anti-seizing properties, it can reduce the amount of lubricants and release agents used during processing, making it a surface modification technology that is also environmentally friendly.

WC (super hard) coating

We have developed a new surface modification that enables scientific bonding at the interface!

By solid solution diffusion of WC (carbide) into the substrate, we have developed a surface modification that enables scientific bonding at the interface. The thickness of the treated layer of the carbide part can be controlled from 10 to 400 μm depending on the purpose, which is thicker than conventional PVD and CVD treated layers, and is almost equivalent to carburizing and nitriding treated layers. Since it involves chemical bonding, the adhesion strength is also excellent. 【Features】 ■ High wear resistance ■ Excellent corrosion resistance *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

DLC coating and film formation method

I will explain the "ion source deposition," "PCVD," and "FAD" that we are conducting!

DLC film formation utilizes technologies such as PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) and CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition). Ion source deposition is a type of PVD where a filament is heated to ionize hydrocarbon gas using thermal electrons, which then collide with the substrate under a potential difference to create a coating. PCVD (Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) involves ionizing hydrocarbon gas in a plasma region and colliding it with the substrate under a potential difference to form a coating. FAD (Filtered Arc Deposition) uses a magnetic field filter to draw only ionized carbon into the substrate for film formation. [Film formation methods we employ] ■ Ion source deposition ■ PCVD (Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) ■ FAD (Filtered Arc Deposition) *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
