LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) molding

Three-dimensional complex shapes can be molded with silicone rubber, utilizing the know-how and equipment developed for designing and manufacturing plastic molds.

As market voices regarding LSR, concerns are raised about "high costs (products, molds, equipment, materials)," "response to complex shapes such as three-dimensional geometries," "realization of composite molding (adhesion)," and "establishment of safety (medical and food compliance)." In response, Kyowa Kasei offers solutions such as "offsetting the high material costs by shortening cycle times," "utilizing the know-how and machine tools developed over many years in designing and manufacturing molds for plastic molding," "primer-less adhesive molding processing through surface modification treatment," and "adopting medical-grade LSR." Additionally, as a backbone for realizing these solution proposals, we collaborate with molding machine manufacturers, mold manufacturers, academic fields, and public institutions. For more details, please contact us or refer to our catalog.

Metallic finish, dry plating, vapor deposition, sputtering; resin molding, rubber molding.

We embellish resin and rubber parts with a luxurious metallic finish.

Achieve a metallic design! Color variations are also possible. Vacuum deposition and sputtering, known as dry plating, are technologies that realize a metallic design on resin and rubber parts. It is possible to apply a metallic-like decoration to rubber materials, and it can bend without causing cracks in the deposition layer. Upon request, metallic-like decoration with radio wave permeability is also possible.

Vacuum and pressure forming technology: Achieving large-scale molding and cost reduction!

Ideal for cost reduction! Easy to change cut dimensions and hole processing! Large-scale molding is possible!

Vacuum forming is a molding method that applies atmospheric pressure to sheet (resin sheet) molding. The sheet (resin sheet) is softened using a heater, and by creating a vacuum in the space (gap) between the softened sheet (resin sheet) and the raised molding die, the sheet (resin sheet) is made to adhere closely to the mold, resulting in the desired shape. In vacuum forming, the internal dimensions (inner dimensions) of the basic molded product serve as the reference dimensions, and molding is done using a male mold (positive mold). In this case, there are no mold marks on the product surface (outside of the mold). However, the product's form will have a softer and more textured finish due to the thickness of the sheet. In contrast, if a sharper molding expression similar to injection molding is desired, pressure forming, which applies a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure, is effective. Molding is done using a female mold (negative mold), allowing for accurate external dimensions (outer dimensions) of the molded product. However, in this case, the mold will touch the product surface, so mold marks cannot be avoided. We address mold marks with treatments such as blasting. Additionally, undercuts can also be molded.

Vacuum (pressure) forming

Short delivery times and cost reduction: Vacuum (pressure) forming for small-batch production of various types.

Vacuum (pressure) forming is a molding method where a heated and softened plastic sheet is stretched and pressed against a mold using air pressure. Unlike injection molding or sheet metal pressing, the mold only requires either a concave or convex shape, which shortens the production time and reduces costs. Moreover, it is easy to change product designs, and small-batch production of various types is a specialty of vacuum (pressure) forming. *For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
