YOSHIDA's proud in-mold technology. What is in-mold molding?

A film (in-mold foil) with a pre-printed design is sandwiched between molds, and resin is poured in. The heat and pressure of injection molding simultaneously transfer the design during the molding process. Unlike methods that apply decoration after molding, this molding technique efficiently achieves a more beautiful exterior design, developed in 1973 by Yoshida Technoworks, pioneering the world. Building on this in-mold molding, we have evolved our technology to include double in-mold, which decorates both the surface and the back of the molded product simultaneously. We also have tin vapor-deposited in-mold that expresses a beautiful metallic feel without interfering with radio waves, indium in-mold, and two-color in-mold that utilizes the texture of plastic and vibrant colors to enable deep decoration. Additionally, we have developed various in-mold molding techniques, such as glass insert in-mold, which enhances adhesion and waterproofing by integrally molding glass and resin. Resin plating is typically applied to the entire surface, but if plating adheres to fastening parts or the back side other than the design surface, there is a possibility of unusual noises or malfunctions occurring at the fitting points. Partial plating is one method to address these issues. When it comes to resin plating, it is generally performed on the entire surface. Full plating allows for the beautiful appearance of real metal. However, in products, plating may also adhere to areas that fit with other components, such as bosses or claws on the back side, not just the design surface. The adhesion of plating to areas other than the design surface can lead to problems that differ from those of standard molded products. One method to tackle such issues is partial plating. With partial plating, plating is applied only to the necessary parts. It is said that the screw shape is good, so we will start the prototype! Request for molding with the pellet material of the developed product.

We would like to introduce the prototype molded product of the internal screw removal spacer, created using the prototype mold manufactured by our company. For the development product, we received a request for molding with pellet material. While we have molds for dumbbell test specimens, we decided to create a prototype mold due to the preference for screw shapes. It was necessary to experiment with various mold temperatures under molding conditions, and we raised the mold temperature to a maximum of 160°C.
