High Hardness Flash Plating "Cloamore"

The world's first amorphous chrome "Cloamor" is a chromium-based alloy plating that contains 2-4% carbon. Despite its thin film thickness of 3-4μ, it boasts high hardness and excellent wear resistance. 【Features】 ● It has an amorphous structure, exhibiting different properties compared to conventional crystalline structure plating. ● Through heat treatment, its hardness can reach a maximum of Hv 1,800, which is about twice that of hard chrome plating. ● In comparison to hard chrome plating, which rapidly softens at 400°C and only has a hardness of about Hv 200 at 600°C, once hardened, Cloamor maintains a hardness of Hv 1,000 even at 600°C, demonstrating excellent heat resistance. ● Due to the influence of the oxide film present on the surface, it has superior wear resistance compared to standard chrome plating. ● With no cracks present up to approximately 5μm in thickness, it exhibits good corrosion resistance. ● It has about 3 to 6 times the corrosion resistance against chemicals such as hydrochloric acid compared to hard chrome plating. ● Its thin film thickness of 3-4μ allows for functional enhancement of the base material without compromising precision. It demonstrates excellent effectiveness in fields requiring strict precision, such as semiconductor encapsulation molds and various precision components.

Are you looking for a surface treatment that has high hardness, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance to replace DLC?

Cromall is a chromium-based alloy plating that contains 2-4% carbon, offering high hardness and excellent wear resistance. Unlike conventional hard chrome plating, it is crack-free and has fewer coating defects like those found in DLC films, resulting in superior corrosion resistance. (The corrosion rate in hydrochloric acid is one-third that of hard chrome plating, and can be reduced to one-sixth with heat treatment.) Compared to DLC films, which begin to degrade at around 300°C and lose adhesion, Cromall maintains stable adhesion and demonstrates good adhesion even at high temperatures. It is also possible to treat inner surfaces where DLC processing is not effective.

[Proposal] We introduced our "Cloamore." [Result] They evaluated the precision and wear resistance, and subsequently requested a complete set including the mold for the resin flow path. Case study of hard chrome plating No. 1 [Tank of overseas products]

The issue of overseas products' tanks being prone to damage was resolved with "hard chrome plating"!

We would like to introduce a case where a tank made overseas was prone to damage, causing difficulties. [Issue] We received an inquiry from a manufacturer who needed a tank for mixing marble raw materials that required hardness. However, the overseas-made tank was easily scratched, and there were numerous scratches in areas where the plating had peeled off. [Proposal] The original overseas-made tank had a very thin hard chrome plating, and particularly near the junction of the inner diameter bottom and the inner diameter surface, there was almost no plating at all. Therefore, we proposed to apply our "hard chrome plating" more thickly. [Result] The hard chrome plating applied by another company had scratches after just one use, but after our delivery, the tank was used several times without any issues, and the customer was satisfied.

Hardness of Hv1000 even at 600℃! High heat-resistant plating "Cloamore".

This is an amorphous chrome plating that has improved heat resistance, which has been considered unsuitable for use at high temperatures.

It has an amorphous structure and possesses different characteristics from conventional crystalline coatings. Through heat treatment, its hardness can reach up to a maximum of Hv 1800, which is about twice that of hard chrome plating. While both chrome amorphous and hard chrome plating experience softening of hardness when used at high temperatures, chrome amorphous, which has reached its maximum hardness through heat treatment, can maintain a hardness of around Hv 1000 even when used at 600 degrees. Additionally, unlike chrome plating, which does not return to its original hardness after being used at high temperatures, chrome amorphous returns to its original hardness each time it cools to room temperature, making it suitable for use at high temperatures.
