Cost reduction method for can manufacturing processing into sheet metal using VA and VE.

The method for cost-reducing the canning structure unit to a sheet metal structure using VA and VE involves utilizing bending structures to enhance rigidity.

This is one method for cost-reduction design when using structural steel materials for canning processing frames and supports, maintaining strength through VA and VE based on specifications while preserving the same shape through sheet metal processing. The key point is to construct equivalent shapes to angles, channels, and square pipes through sheet metal bending processing. Canned structural enclosures are suitable for units that require rigidity, but when comparing with units made from equivalent shapes through sheet metal processing, the latter has advantages in terms of processing man-hours and precision. In the case of structural steel, the surface of the material is in a cast state, whereas sheet metal materials have a clean surface, providing advantages in terms of plating and painting finishes for sheet metal processing.

Cost reduction through VA and VE by integrating multiple sheet metal units to reduce man-hours.

This is a VA/VE method for cost reduction in machining through shape optimization by integrating sheet metal units of the same shape.

1. A cost-reduction design method using VA/VE to integrate multiple identical-shaped component units. 2. The advantage of integration over segmentation lies in the reduction of processing and assembly man-hours! As mentioned above, this is an introduction to the sheet metal processing VA/VE method that can reduce processing and assembly man-hours through component reduction. The key point is to achieve integration in a way that reduces processing and assembly man-hours when performing VA/VE on shapes. VA/VE content: By synthesizing multiple units of the same shape into one, significant reductions in man-hours and components can be achieved, leading to cost reduction. With this perspective, cost reduction can be realized.

[Processing Example] Completed a 400mm bead drawing in 3 days using a laminated mold.

We will introduce a case where we prioritized delivery time by selecting a layered mold and were able to complete it in 3 days!

This time, we are introducing a case of a long, narrow shape measuring 430x20mm, with a bead drawing applied over a length of 400mm. The bead drawing had a width of 2.7mm and a length of 400mm, but since the dimensional tolerances other than the drawing height and the requirements for the convex part's R shape were lenient, a dedicated stacked mold was manufactured and processed. Although there were concerns about warping due to the additional bead drawing on the elongated shape, we were able to meet the warping limit condition of 0.5 max by incorporating a process to remove strain. [Case Overview] ■ Material: NSECC-QS1 ■ Size: 430x20×15mm ■ Plate Thickness: t1.2 ■ Precision: ±0.2 ■ Quantity: 3 ■ Delivery Time: 3 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] Achieving high precision and short delivery times through the combination of V-bending technology.

A case that meets the constraints of no inner radius bending, no bulging on the outer side of the bend, and no deformation of holes.

This time, we are introducing a case where multiple V-bending techniques were combined to meet strict tolerance requirements. Due to the constraint of "no inner R on the bend," after V-bending with a sharp-edged mold, bottoming was performed with a dedicated mold. By adding this process, we minimized the inner R of the bend to the extreme and reduced variation in bending. Not only through bending processing but also by innovating in the preceding and following processes, we achieved a short delivery time of 3 days. 【Case Overview】 ■ Material: SUS304 ■ Size: 50x30x30mm ■ Plate Thickness: t2.0 ■ Precision: ±0.1 ■ Quantity: 60 ■ Delivery Time: 3 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] Consistent support from tube bending and coining bending to assembly.

Introducing a case where we implemented a design that allows for the reduction of engineering work, enabling delivery in a short timeframe!

We would like to introduce a case where we manufactured bent parts and cylindrical rolled parts, and finally completed the riveting process. This time, we received a request for a short delivery time of 300 pieces in 10 days, so it was necessary to quickly complete the bending process before riveting. To achieve this, our company developed an in-house mold with improvements to reduce the process steps, enabling us to meet the short delivery deadline. 【Case Overview】 ■ Material: SECC ■ Size: 50×30×25mm ■ Plate Thickness: t2.0/t1.2 ■ Precision: ±0.1 ■ Quantity: 300 ■ Delivery Time: 10 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] Hemming bending processing of a 0.3mm thick phosphor bronze spring material.

We have a dedicated mold for Hemming bending that we developed in-house! We can accommodate thicknesses of 1.0mm or less.

We would like to introduce a case study of processing leaf springs that include hemming bends. Due to the thickness of 0.3mm, there are often opportunities to purchase the material in coil form when arranging materials. Since it is wound in a roll, the material itself has warping and distortion, making it impossible to process the blanks as is. At our company, we stabilize the accuracy of blank processing by removing warping with specialized machinery, and we further minimize warping by using a fiber laser processing machine. 【Case Overview】 ■ Material: C5191-1/2H ■ Size: 40×46×10mm ■ Thickness: t0.3 ■ Accuracy: ±0.1 ■ Quantity: 10 ■ Delivery Time: 5 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] T1.0 aluminum with M2 small diameter bar ring tapping.

An example of processing M2 bar rings on a 1.0mm thick A5052 plate after bending!

This time, we will introduce a case of precision sheet metal processing that includes a small-diameter bar ring tap. There was a specification for an M2 bar ring on a 1.0mm thick A5052 plate. Due to its small diameter and slender shape, it is prone to breaking, so extreme caution is required during processing. In this case, the bar ring tap was located adjacent to a bend and was in a position where it could interfere with the shape. Since there was a risk of it being crushed if processed before bending, the bar ring tap processing was carried out after bending. [Case Overview] ■ Material: A5052 ■ Size: 10×30×60mm ■ Plate Thickness: t1.0 ■ Accuracy: ±0.1 ■ Quantity: 60 ■ Delivery Time: 10 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] Achieving Short Delivery Times with Proposal for Feed Bending (FR Bending)

We will introduce a case where selecting the sending bend (FR bend) enabled a quick response with a short delivery time.

This time, we would like to introduce a processing case of a product made of SUS304-H material, which has large R bends (R14.5) in two places. Due to a short delivery request, we only had one week for the production period. Since we did not have a mold for R14.5 and could not secure time for its production, we proposed processing using a sending bend. By adding a process to reduce warping before bending, we were able to mitigate warping after bending and achieve satisfactory precision. 【Case Overview】 ■ Material: SUS304CSP-H ■ Size: 300x160x26mm ■ Plate Thickness: t0.8 ■ Precision: ±0.2 ■ Quantity: 10 ■ Delivery Time: 7 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] Achieving high-precision bending processing of ±0.03 through additional processing on supplied materials.

We will respond to inquiries such as "I want to utilize what is currently available" with creativity and technical expertise!

This time, we would like to introduce a case where connector pins were manufactured from blanks provided by the customer. The blanks were supplied with only elongated holes drilled. The pins were arranged in a single sheet for a total of 54 pieces, and the request was to process them into individual shapes. When cutting the pin outlines with a laser to match the elongated holes, it is important to align the centers of the elongated holes and the pin sections. By adding a process to reduce distortion, our company was able to align the positions simply by fine-tuning the laser program. 【Case Overview】 ■ Material: C1020-1/2H ■ Size: 1.5×4.5×12mm ■ Thickness: t0.64 ■ Accuracy: ±0.03 ■ Quantity: 500 ■ Delivery Time: 10 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] Machining finish of a short bending section.

A processing example that maximally utilizes our strengths, created by combining sheet metal processing and cutting processing.

This time, we would like to introduce a case study of a product processed by combining bending and machining. Our company has chosen a method that removes excess areas by milling after bending, finishing to the shape as per the drawings. By combining machining, we can handle even low-height bends without any issues. Additionally, this bend has an inner radius of R1.6 and a width of only 5mm, which cannot be accommodated with standard types. However, we design and manufacture dedicated molds in-house for processing. 【Case Overview】 ■Material: C2801-1/4H ■Size: 13×25mm ■Thickness: t1.6 ■Precision: ±0.2 ■Quantity: 70 ■Delivery Time: 7 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Example] High-precision machining with a tolerance of ±0.03, process design to minimize deformation.

We can handle strict tolerances! We can satisfy precision even in post-processing.

We would like to introduce a processing example of a product made from 0.5mm thick SPTE (tinplate). There is a crushing process on the inside, but due to a tolerance of ±0.03 in width, if the crushing process is carried out as is, the material will spread, and it will not meet the tolerance requirements. At thin sheet metal processing.com, we can accommodate strict tolerances by advancing the processing with a method that takes into account the dimensional changes caused by the crushing process. Please feel free to consult us if you are facing issues with high-precision processing. 【Overview】 ■ Material: SPTE 2.8/2.8 (tinplate) ■ Size: 16×16×14mm ■ Thickness: t0.5 ■ Precision: ±0.03 ■ Quantity: 10 ■ Delivery time: 7 days *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
