Here is an introduction to a case study on bridge prevention using a relatively small hopper. The material is said to be an elastomer powder, and from what I saw of the sample, it contained a significant amount of powder. Since a test was requested, we lent the necessary quantity of our equipment for the experiment. The results were as expected, and the bridge was resolved immediately. In this case, we installed one Brodie disk (BD-15) on each of the three inclined surfaces, for a total of three. The three disks are turned ON and OFF simultaneously using the controller (C-SV1). We have delivered BroaDisk to a feed factory for pig farming. In the case of a silo with a capacity of about 50 tons, there were concerns about bridging, and measures against bridging were implemented using foreign-made equipment. Resolving the bridge of resin powder (water-added)

This is an example we received from a manufacturer of labor-saving machinery. We were consulted because "the customer (in the chemical industry) started adding water to resin powder, and a bridging phenomenon that had not occurred before began to happen in the delivered equipment." The key point this time is that while the flowability of the resin powder before water addition is relatively good, the angle of repose increases due to the addition of water, and there is a possibility of increasing the amount of water added in the future. 0401 Improvement measures for existing users (calcium hydroxide)

After the implementation of the improvement measures, we have received feedback that there are no longer any rat holes at all!

This is a case inquiry from a user who has already installed a Brodisk. Although they purchased and installed the Brodisk as a measure against rat holes, they consulted us because they observed that the rat holes had not been resolved upon visual inspection of the inside of the hopper during maintenance. As a countermeasure, we advised them to increase the number of Brodisk installations, reconsider the placement, use a controller with four solenoid valves, and review the air piping (such as tube diameter conditions), which they implemented. After implementing this improvement plan, the user reported that there were no rat holes at all. We would like to introduce a case where this equipment was implemented to address bridging issues in a dust collector hopper for local exhaust ventilation. The dust being collected contains carbon, and there is a period when the original material is left outdoors in a bulk bag, which particularly absorbs moisture during rainy weather, leading to bridging. The bridging situation occurs right above the discharge device (rotary valve), where we installed four units, one on each side in this area. Introducing a Brody disk for wastewater treatment facilities! Easily resolves bridges and rat holes.

When the humidity at the site increases, bridges frequently occur. Here, we would like to introduce a case where measures were taken to address this issue. Two Brody Disk Minis were installed opposite the square hopper, and a controller (C-SV1) with one solenoid valve was used to provide intermittent aeration for both units simultaneously. In general, for fine powders with poor fluidity, the air ON time is often set to around 3-5 seconds. The size of the hopper in question is 500×500, and if the flowability of the powder is quite poor, it is generally recommended to use at least four blow discs (standard type: BD-15). Initially, four BD-20 type blow discs were adopted, and aeration was performed manually under various conditions.
