Dioxins include 75 types of PCDDs, 135 types of PCDFs, and 12 types of DL-PCBs, and since the toxicity varies for each isomer, it is required to accurately quantify the identified isomers. Due to the extremely low levels of quantification, high-level techniques are required for the cleanup of contaminants, and measurement methods using high-precision instruments are necessary. *The analysis results of dioxins are evaluated by multiplying the measured concentration calculated for each isomer by the toxicity equivalence factor (TEF). The RoHS directive refers to the chemical substance management directive based on Directive 2011/65/EU adopted by the EU (European Union). In July 2019, the RoHS2 directive added regulated substances (phthalate esters). Originally, it was a directive aimed at electronic components, but it also overlaps with the ELV directive (for end-of-life vehicles) and the WEEE directive (for waste electrical and electronic equipment). Today, it is also aligned with the regulatory targets of various companies' green procurement guidelines. Soil and groundwater survey

We provide a one-stop service for soil contamination investigations based on the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act, from soil analysis and historical surveys to soil purification.

Soil contamination includes cases where specific harmful substances used at business sites such as factories have permeated the ground and contaminated the soil, as well as situations where contamination is of natural origin. The Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act aims to understand the situation of soil contamination caused by such specific harmful substances and to prevent health damage to humans due to soil contamination. A total of 27 substances are designated as specific harmful substances, and the standards regarding contamination are defined as "standards based on the amount leached into the testing solution of specific harmful substances concerning soil contamination from the perspective of groundwater (soil leaching standards)" and "standards based on the content of specific harmful substances concerning soil contamination from the perspective of direct ingestion (soil content standards)." Under the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act, there is an obligation to conduct a soil contamination status investigation and report the results in the following three cases. Furthermore, soil investigations are to be conducted by designated investigation agencies specified by the Ministry of the Environment.

Simple and Rapid Measurement Method for Trace PCBs

Corresponding to the official method, simplified quantitative method, and rapid determination method! Measurement can be conducted more quickly and at a lower cost.

PCB waste is subject to the Waste Management Law (promulgated in December 1970) and the PCB Special Measures Law (promulgated in June 2001), which require notifications regarding the storage and disposal conditions, as well as the obligation to carry out appropriate disposal by March 2027. PCB waste must be classified as either high concentration or low concentration based on its content, and it is necessary to process it at appropriate treatment facilities, which requires measuring the PCB content in advance. Furthermore, from April 1, 2010, publicly listed companies and their consolidated subsidiaries are subject to the "Accounting Standards for Asset Retirement Obligations," and PCB waste defined under the PCB Special Measures Law requires the removal costs of PCBs to be recorded as "asset retirement obligations" in liabilities.

Support Project for Self-Disciplinary Chemical Substance Management

"Self-regulated Chemical Substance Management" Traditionally, businesses have prevented labor accidents caused by chemical substances by complying with special regulations. However, in recent years, 80% of the causes of labor accidents have been attributed to "substances not covered by special regulations." In light of this situation, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is requesting that businesses implement self-regulated chemical substance management, where they appropriately carry out risk reduction measures based on their own judgment using Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other resources, starting from April 2024.
